I am happy to see the good response.

Those who are bilingual can use both languages, I think it´s fair for everyone.

It´s been over a month and I still have not received packet 4, I will defenetly keep you poste on this and my timeline.

Since I am on a K-1 process, I do not requiered to get the immunizations, however, I am planning to change my status after I married. Can anyone direct me to which vaccines I will need in orther to request my chance of status. I think it will be cheaper to have it done here in El Salvado, at the same time I can use my time getting everything ready, one step at the time.

Bueno ya paso mas de un mes y aun no recibo el paquete 4 con la fecha de la entrevista en la embajada, la espera me esta matando, pero el amor me hace perseverar y saber que saldre victorioso ante esta pequeña y cruel batalla al camino de mi felicidad.

Debido a que estoy aplicando para una K-1 en realidad no requiero las vacunas, sinembargo, al aplicar por un cambio de estatus al de residencia temporal una vez que me case con mi amada, necesito estas vacunas, asi que pienso inicial las vacunaciones lo antes posible. Si alguno de ustedes ya paso por ese proceso y me pueden indicar detalles sobre cuales son las vacunas, seria de mucha ayuda.

Hey! I think you are right, immunizations will be much cheaper here in El Salv, although if you have to get some in the States and don't have insurance they aren't too bad through the Health Department.

Hola! Tienes razon, creo que seria mas barato obtener las vacunas aqui en El Salvador antes de ir, pero si tiene que recibirlas en EEUU no cuestan tanto a el Health Department, Departemento de Salud. Espero que la info de cuales vacunas necesitas esta aqui arriba en las paquinas de web.

I think it would be a good idea to have this thread for Central America since we are such small countries, especially El Salvador, so I figured that we are under representet here at VJ. For Example, I have not found many active members going through the K-1 process at this time in El Salvador, there are past recounts but not actual ones, it makes me believe that I am the only one but this is not statistically possible. So Colombians have their posts, so do English spoken Caribbian Islands, well we can too and it is important because we have our own timelines and process.

My goodness this is a comprehensive list of vaccines thank you. I need to get the wheels moving, I have had many of those vaccins, however, I don´t have records since many of them I had them a long time ago as a child. I had two shots of hep. B in NY six years ago, again, no records though. I am sure that if I get immunization tests it would show but this would be more expensive than having the shots againg. I´ll consult with a physician on this subeject.

As for the Spanish and English question, well, I think we should all help each other out . How about someone who can only post in Spanish posts in Spanish and puts at the end to ¨TRANSLATE´and whoever views the post first and can translate can answer the post by translating it to English so we can all view it. I know I would try to help out if someone wants their questions translated. Then their respective USC partner can help them sort out the answer as a team.

Hola a todos en este foro, al fin se puede leer a los centroamericanos unidos por un mismo proposito, aunque al leer el inicio del foro no entendi porque esta hecho en INGLES, entiendo los comentarios que si se hace en ingles todos "PODRIAN TENER MAS ACCESO A LA INFORMACION" aunque no necesariamente, porque no todos hablan o escriben ingles, en mi caso particular puedo leerlo bastante bien, pero a la hora de escribirlo me hago bolas con los verbos pasados presentes etc, asi que no me termina de convencer que el foro sea en ingles, ya que estoy segura que muchas personas centroamericanas entran a estos foros y a leer que todo esta en ingles se decepcionan y no participan, porque ponganse a pensar como esta el nivel de ingles en centro america? y no es una cosa que se diga que el 90% de la poblacion lo habla, asi que en mi opinion este foro deberia de ser en español, pues mucha informacion en ingles ya existe, sientanse dichosos los que pueden hablarlo leerlo y escribirlo porque pueden obtener mas informacion que los demas , pero hay que darle chance a la gente no sabe hacer ninguna de las 3 cosas y esta buscando informacion para sus casos, en fin si se supone que hay aqui para todos los continentes, pues adelante en el idioma materno, y si hay americanos que estan escribiendo en Ingles, pues a nosotros nos toca minimo hacer lo mismo conservar el idioma. aqui en todo caso seria que si alguien solo habla ingles y quiere alguna info, que a esa persona se le tradusca de ingles a español y no al reves, que Dios les bendiga y suerte a todos en sus casos!!!

Basic idea of post above (Idea en general de el post arriba): It makes sense to have the Central American thread in Spanish as much as possible, and the English-only posts on this thread should also be translated into into Spanish as well. Many people on this forum can read English but when it comes to writing it is very difficult and they should also have the right to post questions and receive info, since most of the info on VJ is in English already, they have the hardest time finding info and asking questions.

I am the USC and filed the I-130 for my husband directly with the Embassy in El Salvador. I think it is a great idea to have a Central American place so we can all band together and hold hands or wring our hands.

As for the Spanish and English question, well, I think we should all help each other out . How about someone who can only post in Spanish posts in Spanish and puts at the end to ¨TRANSLATE´and whoever views the post first and can translate can answer the post by translating it to English so we can all view it. Se que yo intentaria ayudar si alguien quisiera traducir su pregunta. Y entonces su respectivo ciudadano norteamericano, o sea pareja les puede ayudar a entender la respuesta en equipo.

Mi esposo queria escribir un ´post´pero le dije que era un foro en ingles y se sintio como no incluido, asi que casi siempre you pongo los posts y tradusco lo que el quiere decir y lo cito en lo que escribo...

Yo creo que lo podemos solucionar. Trabajemos juntos. Mis traducciones a veces solo tienen como el ´sabor´de lo que dice porque a veces no encuentro equivalentes, pero al menos lo intentare.

Keep this in mind, the Amerian Embassy will be closed from Monday August 4, to Wednesday August 6, due to San Salvador city holiday celebration. I used to enjoy this national festivities but I am not so sure anymore, especially when my visa is delayed. Anyway, have fun my friends.

Recuerden que la Embajada Americana estara cerrada por motivos de las vacaciones de Agosto, desde el Lunes 4, hasta el Miercoles 6 de Agosto. Se Renuevan actividades el Jueves 7 de Agosto. Thanks to everyone for keeping things bilingual. I feel much closer to the Spanish-speakers because people are helping me understand what they're saying. And, apologies that I cannot translate these sentences into Spanish myself! Mi disculpa (is that correct?).

Another benefit of people providing translations within their messages is that I can learn at least some vocabulary, and perhaps grammar also, by comparing the English text with the Spanish. Perhaps this will work in the other direction, too.

I agree, this is a good english-spanish excercise for all of us! The best advice I can give to those learning another language is to watch T.V. and hear lots of music on that language, that really helps.

Thanks for your comments about our country! I love El Salvador, especially the beaches! One of my High School friends lives in El Salvador and when we visit her she always takes us to Costa Del Sol.
