I guess everybody took leave at Vermont Service Center. They haven´t touched my case since 4/17/08. :crying::crying::crying:

This waiting is killing me.

They routinely take at least three months to finish processing a K-1.

Historically, VSC has taken anywhere from just a couple of weeks to 6+ months or more. Currently they are taking 3+ months with no RFE.

If you notice the OP's timeline, it's been quite a long wait. My guess is that it is stuck in a check of some sort and is taking longer.

I do hope you see your approval soon.

Hi, my case was also from VSC. We applied Feb 5, 2008 and USC received it on the 26th and was then approved April 11. I wonder why your case took that long and never been touched since then. If you submitted completely all the required documents then i can't see any reasons why its just sleepin there. I remember my fiance called VSC to get info how long would it take before our case be approved and luckily he was entertained. Now, i guess you can call VSC and know what happend to your case. Good luck!

Last time I called there they didn't want to give any information, they say that only the petitioner can request information about the case. I was mad. He called and they say they are processing Dec 2007

But dear, you did file in december 2007. maybe it's time to make calls again.

My heart goes to you. I hope I can do anything to speed up your approval but I don't have the power. I can only hope and pray that you would continue holding on and keeping faith that you will get that NOA2 and would be reunited with Donald soon. I am continously hoping that your next thread would be screaming with "WE GOT THE NOA2!!!" I've been keeping an eye for that and it will certainly come and when it comes I will be very very happy for you.

Pls stay strong and pls keep the fire of hope burning and may the the love you share with Donald continue to give you needed strength to keep going.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers always. (F)

security checks can take quite some time. With previous petitions...new IMBRA laws... name and database checks...etc. You're obviously 'on hold' because of something and you should at least be able to find out why.

Our poor Sara (estadia) has been waiting a year now for her K1 petition to be approved at the USCIS.

They will usually give the standard 'we are processing....' answer but every now and then you can get someone who will tell you something about your case. I'd keep calling for sure. ;)

Thanks for prays and sweet words, I called today and I received same response, that Donald is the one that have to call. I was thinking about a conference call with him in line. I am located in Dominican Republic the phone call will cost a lot of money but I need to know about the case

As far as I know we are not under IMBRA laws and this is my first and Donald´s petitions. I really don´t see where the problem is.

The funniest thing is that I work for PEACE CORPS here in Dominican Republic, and I don´t get any kind of response from them. I know about the burocracy but it is unfair.

This waiting is killing me.

how do you know when they last touched your case?

When you log into the USCIS webiste, there is a "Last Updated" date for your petition. If that date changes, that is considered a "touch"

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

There seems to be a couple of VJers responding that are pretty experienced at the waiting game. I know it is small consolation, but they would no doubt sound off if they thought the delay was outrageous. Have you tried calling the USCIS Directors office? I read a post or two about people getting answers this way.

Cheers
