Visa Journey "estimated" approval times

Yesterday the Message in my TIMELINE said that my estimated approval date would be between Aug 16 and September 4. Today it says between September 28 - Oct 28th.. What a change!

Then i say to myself... what could possible have happened for an almost 60 day increase? i look at the individual timelines and i notice 2 people with NOA1's from July 07 and Oct 07... just got approved...

Does this mean that estimated date relies so heavily on just one or 2 people... i mean.. it was just 2...

VisaJourney is only a small portion of what is at USCIS.

Not everyone on VJ fills out their timeline.

So yeah, two additions can really affect the estimations when you are dealing with a relatively small sample size.

That's why I take all that stuff with a grain of salt.

Priority Date I-130 : 4/16/2007 ( 533 days , APPROVED 9/22/2008)
Transferred to local office based on "security checks" : 11/27/2007
wrote hundreds of letters - received letter from FBI Records Management Chief stating no security checks
local office interview : 2/21/2008 - brought my parents too (result : you will get approval within 2-3 weeks)
5/2/2008 - (lawsuit) Writ of Mandamus - OFFICIAL DATE (7/29/2008)
9/22/2008 - CALL AND EMAIL COPY OF APPROVAL NOTICE FROM LAWYER

NVC STAGE 2 : 99 days - 3 months (9/30/2008 to 1/7/2009)

Interview Date : 12/9/2013, originally 12/3, stupid lawyer filled out her dad's passport number wrong..

Interview Passed : 12/9/2013

Visa "Issued" on CEAC : 12/10/2013

If you want to get an accurate idea od where you are, look at the spreadsheet below. I wouldn't put too much value in the estimated approval date, or the dates on the USCIS website for that matter.

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

if you put much value in any data, then hot do you estimate the time?

Hi all,

Can you tell me why there is nothing written in my section for "estimated approval time/stats"? I received my first NOA for my husband's I129F on April 4th, got touched on April 28th, and nothing has happened since.

Just a guess, but you should fill in the "sent" dates of your I-130 and I-129F.

I looked at my timeline estimate now.. My goodness, it was so depressing.. :crying: My husband and I couldn't stand that April to May 2009 adjudication!!!! :crying:

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

Sorry, I guess it's partly my fault that the estimate suddenly jumped!

But then on the other side of the coin, for my case the estimated approval date was Dec 2007, but nothing happened for another 7 months after that!
