Whatever you want to think of illegal entrants and their children aside......

Bottom line is these people aren't affecting your visa process. They aren't in the system and they aren't clogging the pipeline.

These people only 'clog' the system if they apply for asylum or refugee status. Otherwise they are the concern of ICE, not USCIS.

The reason your visas take so long is because of historic abuse of a familial connection to a USC to gain immigration benefits. You blame illegals for walking across the border, but the next best thing to that is being related to a USC. There is no limit to the number of spouses and children the United States will admit. It's a greencard you can get merely by being married. It's the best 'legal' way to abuse the system if you happen to not live in Mexico in Canada.

Don't get overzealous patting yourselves on the back for doing things the 'legal' way. There's loads plenty abuse of this method. If there weren't, the consulates would be pumping out visas faster than McDonald's makes cheeseburgers.

rebeccajo,

Many people in my country could not understand why even professionals who have steady jobs, have traveled to many other countries for fun got turned away for US visitor visa, especially when we need no visa for many commonwealth countries. However, having stayed in US for a while, I could understand the assumption of immigration intent unless proven otherwise that the consulates adopt. I could also understand the reason to scrutinize every IV petition and application to weed out frauds.

But, keeping the files for months at god knows where before processing them hardly do anything to curb abuse of the system. IMO, much of the delays are a direct result of an inefficient system, an organization that needs a major revamp and a workforce that needs some whips.

My bet is every developed country is dealing with illegal immigrants and frauds. However, I am yet to see one that has the same magnitude of delays for spouses and family. If Australia (a country also deals with the same abuse and fraud issues) can pump out a visa for couples to unite in 2-3 weeks(in my country), maybe USCIS should send a troop to study and learn how they do that!

You're not alone, I get mad too.

I am trying to do everything the legal way and I have not moved an inch forward. It is largely because of these illegals why MY case looks so suspicious and will raise red flags to anyone.

It sickens me to know that sometimes the right way isn't the RIGHT way.

are you sure you are trying to do everything the legal way? marring your cousin knowing that is against the law of your country doesn't sound like something right! also If you are given the chance of bringing your wife illegally to be with you here in US wouldn't you take the chance??

hmm.. even rebecca didn't attack me directly on that.. so what did I do wrong? Explain why I had to wait 15 months for nothing.. All I want is for them to make a decision.. I waited my fair time (just like everyone else).. If everyone took 2 years, then I will wait.. but if I see people getting approved 6-8 months, then I expect my turn in line too.. I am not going to do things illegally.. if that was the case, I would have done so already..

so what did I "deserve"? It's bad enough that China isn't one of the welcome countries on the list (this is similar to the story that I posted); I feel the "consequence" of all the people who applied before that had fake marriages, so they make it harder on me to get approved..

GOGO at first I felt sorry for you but now I know why your case is pending and why you will not be happy EVER! because instead of worrying and praying with your heart you are being and IDIOT hating and becoming full of jealousness! I don't wish you bad but you got what you deserve!

This is uncalled for.

I don't agree either with what Gogo said about illegal immigrants.

Doesn't mean he deserves to wait a year and a half for an NOA2 from CIS.

I am PRAYING everyday and hoping for an approval just like most everyone here.. is that wrong to do? Let's see you PRAY for 15 months and nothing shows up on your plate.. If I at least got approved, i can wait longer.. but there has been NOTHING so far.. if you do happen to reach 15 months, then you can say the same thing.. tell me how you feel if you do.. show me your feelings that time.. she should have been here half a year ago.. I wanted to show my wife all the wonderful things in America.. for example, she hasn't even seen snow because her area is in Southern China.. we cry every week now wanting to be together.. you just started your journey and I hope that you get approved soon.. I don't wish bad things upon you like what they did to me.. they may question our love, but in my heart (and hers) , we know we love each other..

I may be wrong about the illegal immigrants, but that doesn't make me bad.. It's probably like what that other person said about "clouding my judgment" now..

well, the "illegal" children always have a decision to go back to their home country.

a child, who possibly knows/remembers nothing of their home country can make this kind of decision? I think your long delay has clouded your rationale.

GOGO at first I felt sorry for you but now I know why your case is pending and why you will not be happy EVER! because instead of worrying and praying with your heart you are being and IDIOT hating and becoming full of jealousness! I don't wish you bad but you got what you deserve!

totally unfair!!! no one deserves to wait that long, wheter I agree with gogo or not on the inmmigration stuff it doesn't make him an IDIOT!!!! he waited long enough and I empathise with him..your words are unkind and out of line here..

See how bad it is to wish or say what other people deserve and how unfair is to condemn people. I say that he got what he deserves as the same way he is judging the illegal aliens to get the treat they got just because they chose to take a risk to benefit their families. DONT DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DONE TO YOU! he is in a deep pain i know but that doesn't justify his prejudist thinking.

I did empathize whit his pain because I have been 6 months married and I can't wait to share a life with my husband here in US but not because things don't work the way we want we have the right to condemn others for chasing a dream.

You don't have to be rude or unfair to prove a point.. like I said before I don't agree with him on the inmmigration issue either but that it self doesn't make him an IDIOT (your words) or DESERVE what he's going through with his case, what would you do if you were in his shoes?? just try to choose the right word next time without offending anybody..

I know I didn't have to be rude and mean because I know I was mean I recognized that, BUT also he would have to think twice before posting hating topics and comments as he did when he is also struggling to accomplish a dream and just because he is doing it by respecting the law it doesn't make him any better.

what I meant by not making him any better is that he is not in the position to judge what other people do in order to achieve their goals. there are US citizen criminals and robbers as there are illegal aliens criminals and robbers, whether you got legal status or not it doesn't label you as a criminal. not everyone is luck enough to have born here in USA or to have entered the country legally.

GOGO now you are understanding the concept "they always have to watch over their back for fear of being caught" don't they have enough whit that?? at least your case is going to be approved some day maybe not this month maybe the following but there is no way is not going to be dismissed you have a HOPE they don't so to live with that fear and sadness is not an easy thing but they chose to be here and have to cope with it but that doesn't mean that they don't have to right to express how desperate they feel as you also have the same right to express your pain for being apart from your wife.

but like you said.. they "choose to be here".. so they made a decision and shouldn't complain about it.. I'm "complaining" too, but I'm complaining because my time was up a long time ago.. I will wait my time if need be, but the system isn't fair.. the illegals have no right to complain about how the system isn't fair to them and that they can't get a good education/job because of their status.. actually, the colleges and other organizations are doing more than they are supposed to in order to help them already...
