hi!!! do you guys remember me? i almost the last winer for the NOA2  , so thanks God we are now here in Chicago, and we are just starting the AOS , but we are lost, becouse the samples of affidavit here are just for singles fiances or whitout kids, and i dont know if anybody here have a clue to file a affidavit whit two kids, any help will be apreciated!!

BTW, any news from PB&JAM?

thanks guys

Hi Jokalu, great to hear that you are with your loved one and are married !!!! Congratulations!!

I filed AOS and I have 1 child. The Affidavit of support I-864 does allow for you to show that there will also be children being sponsored. Part 3 - Information on the immigrant(s) you are supporting......enter each of the childs names in there on a separate line and fill in the columns. Then on number 10 just below those names you have entered you need to enter the total number of people that are being sponsored so that would be the total of your wife and children.

Then in Part 5 Sponsor's household size, you need to enter the number of people you entered in the box for number 10 above (your wife plus kids). Then continue filling out the all the appropriate things on this form for your wife. Collect all of the evidence to support the Affidavit and keep it with her application which will be the main one. Then, for each of your children you need to file out a separate Affidavit of support but do not need to send in the evidence, they will use the evidence from your wifes application. Dont forget to enter on each application the other children and your wife and count them in the numbers for the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring.

I hope this helps. If you have any problems or questions feel free to contact me.

Best wishes in your new life together

I am the foreign wife too with one child and didnt have an income when we filed, we cant as we dont have the work permit. In section 24a my husband put in HIS earnings which was the amount that he had already put in on part 23 called my current individual annual income is. If there is any other person paying into the household then you would enter them and the amount that they earn. This didnt apply to us.

The information about how to submit the affidavits for each family member can be found on page 3 of the instructions for filling out the form. It starts by saying...."You must submit a Form I-864 affidavit of support for EACH intending immigrant you are sponsoring. You may submit photocopies if you are sponsoring more than one intending immigrant listed on the same affidavit of support" It then goes on to say under which conditions you need to send what.

Hope this helps.

Oh.....and you list all of your sons names and their details in part 3 - information on the immigrant(s) you are sponsoring.

As my husband sponsored my son and myself, and I am not earning, I only filled in part 24 a which was his total income from 23 and part c which again was the total income. I read it as the boxes d and e relate to those people who also are contributing to the household income and are listed in part b of this question.

Again, this is only from my experience of this form, but hope it helps.

ok so my name dont should appear in any part of 24 , right? in the sample of the affidavit here in in visa journey appear the name of the foreing wife in the part 24 (e) thats what we wonder if the right is put or not, but the problem and doubt start when we read the part stated that i came whithout depedents, so if your husband dont put you in that part , and you came whit your baby too, we going to do the same thing that your husband did, thanks a lot for your help, and of course if i got any question i going to ask to YOU

A little FYI for anyone travelling before you get a green card:

This weekend Jeremy went to DC to visit a friend. At SFO Airport no one looked at his visa or I94. They just looked at the identifying page of his passport. No problem.

At Reagan Airport in DC - the TSA agent flipped through his passport:

TSA: Do you know that your I94 is expired?

J: Yes, but --

(She cut him off while flipping to his K1 visa)

TSA: Do you know that your visa has expired?

J: Yes, but it is a one-entry visa and I am adjusting status.

TSA: Ok.

(Hand passport back to him)

He had copies of the AOS NOA and the AOS interview letter with him but I think it's helpful to be informed and to know the right vocabulary in situations like this.

I hope that helps anyone who's planning to travel before you receive your green card.

ok so my name dont should appear in any part of 24 , right? in the sample of the affidavit here in in visa journey appear the name of the foreing wife in the part 24 (e) thats what we wonder if the right is put or not, but the problem and doubt start when we read the part stated that i came whithout depedents, so if your husband dont put you in that part , and you came whit your baby too, we going to do the same thing that your husband did, thanks a lot for your help, and of course if i got any question i going to ask to YOU

Is everyone hanging in there? Nick/Shannon have you received anything on your package yet? Alexandra received her GC today...I must say even including our RFE bump in the road, it was much quicker than the K1 part. To not worry with USCIS for awhile will be nice but I am sure the 21 months before removing conditions will fly by.
