I've been applying for jobs, editing my work, and trying to get an overhaul of my website up before the weekend. I think Andy and I are both losing our minds with the distance right now. I think the long hours at a job he doesn't like and living in a strange place has just made it that much more difficult for him. And for me, it's frustrating to finally have a little time on my hands and not be able to spend it with him.

How are our newlywed couples doing here? Still in post-marital bliss, or are the realities of living in a new country showing yet?

I was just thinking about you Aubrey. Andy will be here this summer right?

This morning I passed my driving test YAY ! I looked on the permit and the date of expiration is august 16th like my I-94. So I asked what I will have to do after this date and they told me to comeback with my california driving license, and a proof of status (EAD or GC) and the will re-send me a new one, I will maybe just have to have a new picture done, that is it. So no need to retake the test !

Good Job they put on Johnys permit that it expires on april 15,2010...haha our wedding date instead of putting the date that the I-94 expired they said that should be enough time for him until he gets his greencard...that was nice of them....

I sent Johny's AOS/EAD/AP out today...now i just have to worry that everything is okay with it and pray it doesnt take too long!! But another relief that it is finally out a month and a half after we were married.

To answer aubreys question i def think that we are not in total marriage bliss, but that is okay as long as we are together and building our life. The reality of life hits you as always-with full time school, work, raising an 8 year old girl, immigration, living with my dad, life doesnt go as smoothly as one would like. we need him to get a job fast so we can move out and settle down.

@ErinMeetsJohny: The average times were going down last I looked, but still 2 1/2 months. This is why in my case Andy is still in Germany working. I can't imagine having to move in with my parents again. I hope yours are supportive. I'm sure the lack of privacy for two newlyweds is not much fun.

@Koakland: Yeah, we're still figuring on a move date at the beginning of July. No changes so far. Another month on the job for him, then moving back to his parents place for a few days to make final arrangements, get rid of stuff, etc. Can't book a ticket with uncertainty on my end concerning jobs, so it will be a last minute thing.

@Cham: I'm hanging in there. I spent the last two days glued to the computer re-working my website, as some of the job boards have gotten me a few more hits than usual. There aren't many jobs to apply for right now, as everyone wants 2-3 years+ experience. You know, same story you always hear. Next week I'll start sending out stuff cold on days I can't find listings. Wish me luck. Things will get ugly in a few months if I'm not hired.

Married life is pretty wonderful but it's definitely an adjustment. I'm not used to having zero time to myself and the whole quest for more independence thing kicks in every once in a while with Sebastian not being able to drive, work, etc. His EAD was approved last week but he's having a really hard time finding a job. But we're toughing it out!
