Should we do i-129F now since VSC is behind on i-130?

You will notice that i-130 is at July 2007 and i-129F (k3) is at Dec 07. After I got my first approval I had seen messages here that there really is no difference in processing time for these applications. With VSC being so slow, would this be a a good time to just go ahead and file i129F?

Did anyone wait for a while and then file the i129F?

I know the i-130 date hasn't moved from July for a long time; I don't know how much the -129F (K3) has moved in last 2-3 months.

Any comments suggestions ??

Dec. 30 2007 <- Sent I-130 (along with G325A)

Feb. 02 2008 <- Check Cashed

Nov. 18 2008 <- NOA 2 received

Dec 21, 2008 <- DS-3032 received by NVC

Dec 21, 2008 <- I-864 sent into NVC

Based on everything I read after filing our I-130, I quickly filed the I-129F (K3) because it was reported the processing time for a K3 (non-immigrant) visa is faster. And since they wave the filing fee per the I-130 filing, you have nothing to lose.

Good luck!

MY HUSBAND FILED ONLY OUR I-130 IN DECEMBER 2007!

BUT WE WERE VERY DESPERATE THE LAST MONTH, AND HE DECIDED TO SEND THE I-129F!!

HE CALLED TO USCIS, AND NO MORE MONEY, ONLY THE FORM!!

I DON NOT KNOW IF IT IS A GOOD IDEA OR NOT, BUT WE FEEL THAT NOW WE HAVE TWO DIFFERENT WAYS TO BE TOGETHER!

GOOD LUCK!!

I intend to file I-129F after waiting for 6 months from I-130 without any sign of NOA2.

No one is sure it's going to be quicker using this way. The sure thing is this system is the most uneffiencient one.

It should give people the choice: either I-130 or I-129F at the beginning. At the beginning, we had no choice.

We had to file I-130, waited NOA1 then file I129-F. Given, the amount of backlog & work

they are handing now, filing the I-129F like adding another payload to the old donkey.
