I have a birth certificate that does not have a back. I know that you said if I do not have the long version of a birth certificate to copy my the pages in passport as well, but do I need to go ahead and copy the back of my birth certificate too?

Timeline

If you are the USC then you can use either the birth certificate or the passport (not both) and if you choose to use your birth certificate you can send in a blank piece of paper and write on it 'back of birth certificate'. Good Luck

Why can't you send both a Birth certificate and a passport? That would just supplement the evidence that she is a U.S. citizen.

My fiance now my husband sent both, copy of his passport and copy of his birth certificate (front & back-even if the back is blank). And we got no problem!

There is no problem but it is unnecessary as only one or the other is required to proove US citizenship.
