I'll teach them tagalog word and as much as possible i want them to learn how to speak very well in tagalog.

Yes, Talaga may dugo kasing Irish eh. Its one of the reason I fall for him "carinyoso" and conservative.

What can I say? Pag-ibig nga naman 2374_love_struck.gif

Definitely that one - NEVER talk back to parents or the elderly.

In "speak out" talk show may nag sabi doon na kung hindi ka kumakain ng rice hindi ka pinoy...so definitely yung rice magiging staple yan sa household namin :)

I told my husband that in pinas our parents dont let us pay rent kahit na dumami pa anak mo at doon ka nakatira sa parents mo. He said that parents here asks their kids to pay rent once they reach 18y.o. to teach them how to be independent. Pero hindi ko ma imagine na sisingilin ng rent anak ko. Naging independent naman ako sa pinas na hindi bumabayad ng rent kay mama eh :) hehehe :)

My husband and I are worried about raising our kids here. Alam nya kasi kung paano ang mga ugali ng mga bata dito. He doesn't want us to be out of the house working all day. At least one of us will stay at home para hubugin yong mga kids sa mabuting asal. I want them to put God first in thier lives above all things respeto sa mga nakakatanda, knows how to say po and opo, pagmamano, wag sasabat sa usapan ng mga matatanda, well behave pag nasa ibang bahay, wag sasagot ng pabalang, wag mag paligaw kung saan saan, tuturo ko rin yong important ng family. Last but not the least I'll teach them how to appreciate filipino food especially FISH and RICE :D

I want him to learn how to respect US as a parent and how important we are to him. I hope he should know that he would take care of us especially my husband if I die early because I promised that to my husband I would take care of him and change his diaper someday when we get older. I want him to love his family both my family in the Philippines and here. I hope he will not bring girls in our house geezz I will have heart attack when I found out he is not virgin at all at the age of eleven hehhehehe. Obey his parents; love his sibling he’s two kuya’s. And I want him to learn how to eat Filipino foods and MAG MANO… I have lots of dreams and plans for my son. But I want him to know what ever decision he makes in life, if he failed I want him to run to me and not be afraid because I will be the first and last will hug him in times of failures. Faithfulness to the family is a tradition that is characterized in Filipino society, and that is one of the values that i want to pass on to my kids. This family loyalty is apparent in the fact that there are no booming businesses for retirement homes or orphanages in the Philippines.

Also important to Filipinos are treating elders (even someone a year older is an "elder") with the respect they deserve and require. There are many ways a person can show respect, whether it is by using hand gestures or speaking in a manner that denotes respect. And i want my kids to practice both. Respect begets respect.

At the dinning table, I want my family to gather and eat all together during meals. And always say a prayer before we partake the food. (A family that prays together, stays together)

Aside from the values and cultures stated above, i will never forget to teach my kids how to speak tagalog or visayan (our vernacular) so when we get to visit Philippines from time to time, they can at least relate to some few things. I will also educate them about Philippine History.

At the dinning table, I want my family to gather and eat all together during meals. And always say a prayer before we partake the food. (A family that prays together, stays together)

This reminds me of when I was young and all of the family members gathered around the dining table to eat together and pray before the meal. My grandpa would be the one to assign who will lead the prayer. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, naging sentimental tuloy ako pag naa-alala ko :crying: I definitely want my future family to practice this.
