Hello,

Had some general questions on the process and documents of proof submitted:

1. Do you think color printouts of pictures would be as good as actual duplicate photos made?

2. Were your sworn affidavits from friends notarized? I just feel bad making my friends go thru all this stuff with us. How many affidavits did you have? And what does it mean on the I-751 instructions when it says, "Affidavits must be supportted by other types of evidence listed above"?

3. I notice our office's address is a PO Box. How do you get a tracking number for a PO box?

4. What can we expect in terms of an interview, i.e. do they put us in separate rooms, etc? And how long before we're notified of the interview?

I'm sure there's more, but this is all I can think of for now. Thanks guys!!

Thanks for those links!

I'm a little concnerned about having our account numbers floating around out there. Does anyone know if it's ok to submit statements of our bank accounts, credit cards, etc. but with some of the digits blacked out?

We have a printer that makes regular photos, so that's what we used. As to affidavits, we just submitted two from long time friends and they were not notarized. I don't think that is necessary since they ask for address and telephone numbers of the friends.

Check the USCIS site for the proper address for your area since they just recently changed their procedures. All I-751's are processed in VSC or CSC regardless of where you live. The site tells you where to send them.

You will receive an letter of acknowledgment for your application and it will have a case number. This number is not effective for the email notification or obtaining a copy of the acknowledgment. You will need to wait for the biometrics letter for the actual case number. That will be the number you use and check on it's progress.

It seems that most don't go through the interview process at this level, unless there is some real question. If you have provided enough financial documentation to prove joint ownership/liability and joint filed tax returns you should not have a problem. They are looking for "so-called" real evidence of a marriage, which means joint accounts, debts, obligations, etc. If you show spousal naming on insurance policies, retirement accounts, etc. that should be suffficient to show a "true marriage".

I know American couples that would have a hard time proving they have a true marriage under the USCIS guidelines.

They already have all your info like SSN, greencard, passport info etc. etc. But if you are concerned, you can block out the account number info. - many of us actually highlight the account numbers on bank and credit card statements to show the same number being used for both of us. And many of us didn't send any affidavits from friends and family - I felt that was the least valuable or most worthless evidence. Do what makes you comfortable - Good Luck
