Caregiver class for the U.S.

Has anyone from the philippines completed a caregiver class in there country and was able to use it in the U.S.? The reason I am asking is my wife wants to take a class where she lives, but I have been told by friends in the U.S. that it wouldn't hold up.

I know she couldn't get into a hospital or anything, but could she start out in private homes with a foreign certificate?

thanks,

martinbr

Caregiver does not exist in USA.

You must have 4 year degreee and sit for NCLEX in order to be a RN in USA, if you are forgien trained.

Right now the USA is in Retrogression for RN's and there is a 5 year waiting list to get visa for RN.

I went to a Caregiver school back there in the Philipppines, but I was not able to use it here to get a job. Caregiver courses in the Philippines is not recognized over here. Your fiancee can take CNA class when she gets here, and thats the best option if she wants to work in nursing homes or hospitals.
