Can you believe it? Its taking approximately 7 months from the date the biometrics are taken to approve the I-751 application for original VSC filers? Unbelievable!!! Anyone have any earlier approvals than 7 months, please reply.

FYI, you might want to change the waiting time into 12 months if your case is at VSC.

Yup, Its summer in Vermont. So folks are out on vacation. Looking at 2009 for 1-751 approval

That could cause us some issues, as we are actually eligible to file next month--and it may seriously impact our 2009 plans (which tentatively include a trip to Chennai in May).

Why would it impact your plans?

We're going to Morocco in March and I don't think my husband will have the 10-yr card by then. He'll just bring the extension letter and/or the I-551 stamp (if he can get it).

It's just a wait....nothing more. In the whole scheme of things, this will be the easy part for us.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I would definitely change that "xx/xx/2008 - I-751 Approved" in your sig to "xx/xx/2009 - I-751 Approved."

Meh

7 months I wish. We are going on 12 months, of course ours started out at TSC.

But it is just a waiting game. Annoying but that is all. Doesn't affect trips because you will have your letter or stamp stating that the GC has been extended, and in most cases i don't think there is an interview, so usually don't have to worry about a conflict in schedules. And you can go ahead and apply for citizenship even though you are still pending.

Have fun.

The priority day is Apr29 07 now. So, officially it is about 13-14 months. But since they have done direct filers up to Sept, I would expect it to be more like 11-12 months. By the way, in some mannual I read that CIS is handling the files/set priority dates from the date they sent NOA1 (not bio letter date).

Can you believe it? Its taking approximately 7 months from the date the biometrics are taken to approve the I-751 application for original VSC filers? Unbelievable!!! Anyone have any earlier approvals than 7 months, please reply.

Exactly. I came to understand, that with the NOA/Extension letter, you could travel with your expired conditional greencard with extension letter. So, travel away.
