Hello Everyone... me again asking questions...This time about Vaccinations, just wondering how people handle this. My hubby doesn't have his record of Vaccinations, so most likely he will have to take all the required Vaccinations. the thing is I am freaking out about the ones that you need to take in 2 doses and wait 4 to 8 weeks in-between each dose. Would it be ok to have the vaccinations done now a head of time and take the records at that point to the Medical Appointment??? Is this something that can be done, or is this not allowed? Is there anyone else in the same vote?

Thanks for your help!

Nita

Yes this is allowed, and is what people do if they had their vaccinations done years before.

Typically TD, MMR, Varicella, are needed for our age group.

They can give different vaccine shots the same day. Some are in series like MMR and have to wait 30 days or do for the second. I had my wife do the series before the St. Lukes medical and she took records of the vaccines she already had done. Saved the hassle and expense of doing so in the US.

If you do not have your vaccination records and already had the desease or have ever been this vaccination, you don't need to take a new shot, all you have to do is to report that to the panel physician and he is able to detect the antibody through a test by your saliva. That information was given by the physician doctor I've set the appointment with. The ones required are according to your age and in order to find out you just have to call your chosen panel physician and get proper information from him/ her.

I was requested to do TD, MMR, Varicella and since I never had any of those deseases I took them all. Varicella is the only one which requires a second shot in 30 days. I took it on June 02 but decided to not take the second shot and if the panel physician questions me about it I'll let him decide if I have to do it, I will, since my appointment is a few days before my interview. I first took the TD and MMR in the same day since TD is not a live virus it could be done at the same day as the MMR, but I was informed that you cannot take 2 different shots of live virus at the same day, like MMR and Varicella, it seems you have to wait for at least 2 weeks to take different live virus shots and so I did.

I've started to handle these vaccinations and medical exams to take to the panel physician like 1 month and half ago and have all done. The only medical lab still not done because it must be done with the panel physician is the blod tests for Syphilis and HIV.

Nita, yes, if you do that, cost can be reduced little bit. Bring all the vaccinations list to the physician and he/she will recommend what all needed for his age. If they are confused, leave it to the panel of physicians of the consulate. Simple !

Here's the list of vaccinations, but you need to call the panel physician you're going to set appointment with to find out which ones are required for you according to your age.

As explained in my previous post you can't have 2 different shots of live virus at the same day. It's needed 2 weeks between the MMR and Varicella to be done. You can have MMR and DT at the same day and Varicella 2 weeks later OR Variccela and DT at the same day and MMR 2 weeks later. That is because DT is not a live virus so it can be done with either MMR or Varicella at the same day, but not the 3 of them all at the same day, since MMR and Varicella cannot be done at the same day!!!!
