Vaccinations: Which ones to get before the Med. Exam.

I was curious if anyone knew of particular vaccinations that would be better to get before you go to the Medical Examination at St. Lukes.

I'm not medically knowledgeable, so bare with me but; there are some vaccines that are recommended to take in series, as well as a month or more before a person travels to the place where those vaccinations are needed.

For example: The Polio vaccine is recommended with three in a series spread out with 4 weeks in between each. My concern is that if these vaccination series are required before a visa is issued, could that possibly mean that a beneficiary is required to take the Polio series in 3 months and thus, won't be issued a visa until the series is complete?

ALSO: Are vaccination expenses included in the $215.00 medical examination fee? Or will we need to pay for those as we get them at the hospital during the medical examination?

I wanted my wife to get as many of the vaccinations before the exam so we aren't delayed for any reason, but if she gets them "for free" at St. Lukes anyway, then I'll just have her wait.

She will be interviewed in St. Lukes regarding the vaccinations she have had. They have a list of vaccines for the applicants. If she got some of those, they will no longer give her the particular shots. Actually she will also be asked if she prefer to get the vaccination here or in the US. I got mine here of course because we paid for it. And yes, all vaccinations are included in the medical fee.

If she had chicken pox before, the doctor will ask to trace the scar/s. That will save her from additional shot.

Good luck

vaccinations to be taken in series will not delay visa grant. vaccines are age dependent, most probably she'll be given MMR and Tdap vaccines and if she's younger than 26 y/o, she'll be given HPV vaccine. all vaccines are included in the medical fee.

if she received any vaccines from doctors other than from SLEC before the medical appointment, she must show a certificate stating that this so and so doctor administered so and so vacinne at so and so date..:)

i hope this will help you...as all of us want to make it right the first time. goodluck on her medical appointment and interview also. God bless us! :innocent:
