It might be a stupid Question

Do USCIS accepts certified checks?

Which one is faster to cash by USCIS Money order,Personal check or Cashier's check

I'm stuck in confusion which one should I use.I want NOA to come faster because after that I have planned a trip

Thanks for taking time to read this

Fee payment is a fee payment... I am unaware they wait to see if a check clears before sending NOA...

YMMV

I always use postal money orders, and postal money orders only, due to the fact the funds are available instantly. Checks are good for verification, but maybe it takes a day or two to cash. If you need verification, send the packet USPS overnight, then check the tracking number. Thats what we do and we havnt had a problem.

A stupid question may be should I send cold hard cash, but was tempted to paper clip an extra hundred dollar bill with my correct check to learn if that would expedite the application.

I have always sent personal checks to Nebraska and they seem to cash it even before I mail it. That way I can check my on-line account to learn when the funds were withdrawn from my account and print out the check. Their deposit date is the day they received the package, and if sent overnight during the week, they deposit the check the same day.

Really no such thing as a stupid question, until you read some of the questions on the N-400.

They Defienatly see If payment is clear or not.I have seen few folks here on VJ who's check bounced and application returned.

I believe the same thing but If you view time line of people.Who pay by check usually gets NOA early

Here's our timeline. We sent personal check. If you send a personal check it will be easier to see when the check clears. I don't even know how you could check to see when a Money Order or Cashier's Check is deposited.

Certified Mail showed our N-400 was received on 6/2/08.

The personal check showed it was deposited on 6/3/08.

The check cleared our bank on 6/4/08.

USCIS sent NOA on 6/6/08.
