Hello Everyone,

I'm so glad to have found all this information online and I don't feel alone in this journey now.

I would like to know the opinions you have of filing the CR-1 or taking the DCF route. I live in Egypt with my husband and I been here since January. I have made 2 trips back to the states and the 6 months they require to file DCF, will have to start now. I just came back from a visit last week.

I would like to file the quickest route possible as we would. :) Would it be faster for me to wait the 6 months and file DCF in Egypt or get my things together and send it back to the states and file the CR-1? I don't plan anymore trips to the states until next year, so, I will have to have some papers sent to me as my father will be a co-sponsor.

If I was to send my request back to the states, would they allow my interview in Egypt or would I have to travel back to the states? I'd appreciate any advice you guys might have. What would you guys do if in my situation? Has anyone else had same situation as I do? I'd like to talk if you are willing to do so.

08/18/09 - POE: Atlanta. It went very smooth, no problems at all. In and out in 30 minutes.

10/05/09 - Sent AOS/EAD

10/19/09 - Rec'd NOA

11/05/09 - Transferred to C.S.C.

11/10/09 - Biometrics - Cancelled waiting for new appt.

12/21/09 - Biometrics - Went well with no problems.

12/31/09 - EAD Card received.

02/16/10 - Transferred to Lee's Sumit, Mo

03/04/10 - Recieved AOS Interview letter.

04/07/10 - A.O.S. Interview - Approved. Very easy interview.

04-26-10 - 2Yr. Green card Received.

DCF is the quickest route.

DCF results in a CR-1 visa, only you are filing the I-130 at the consulate, NOT to USCIS in the USA.

NOTE DCF requires US citizen to show that they did not give up US domicile while living overseas. (IRS filing, US residence, US bank accounts, valid US driver's license, etc..) proves US domicile.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
