Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) So happy for both of you ....

Side note - you asked about Charlotte ... Stephen entered at Raleigh-Durham airport -- there weren't any reviews for POE either. But I can tell you, Charlotte and Raleigh being "smaller" airports, they don't get as many visa entries as say, JFK, Newark, etc. We've found it's taking longer for Stephen to get into the SAVE system (system which allows him to get a SSN, etc). So be aware, it may take longer than 2 weeks, or it may not. As I've lived 20 years in NC, they are a slower state in processing paperwork ... but I wish you both best of luck, and hopefully a quicker experience than we've had (We went to the customs & border patrol office at Raleigh-Durham this morning to find out why his I-94 isn't in the system yet, and they re-submitted one today, so we have to wait another 1-2 weeks to try for SSN again!)

Here's hoping everything goes smoothly for the two of you!!!!

Well I hadn't thought that far ahead either, and since Stephen hate's flying, I was trying to shorten the number of flights we went on. It's not a huge problem, but just frustrating that they don't all operate under the same guidelines ... Charlotte does handle more international flights than Raleigh, so maybe it will go faster :)

And I've only flown through Charlotte on domestic flights, but they seem to be better organized than Raleigh, so hopefully immigration won't take too long. How much time does he have for layover?

About 2 1/2 hours. If he misses - he misses. I would just feel a little bad for him. :-)

That should be plenty of time ... we got through RDU immigration (and we were the last people in line because we were at the back of the plane coming from Europe -- so over around 200 people), and we got through in less than 1 hour.

Oh Good. He wont have any checked bags. That could be good or bad... Good he doesnt have to wait for baggage etc but sometimes it looks suspicious with only a carryon. Well we shall see...

Good Morning VJers!

My fiance will be arriving into NH Saturday night on his K-1 Visa.

He will be connecting through Charlotte NC. I didnt see any reviews for this POE. Anyone have experience with CLT? I have been through the airport but did not have to deal with immigrattion.

Also, just to be sure, all he needs is the sealed envelope and Passport/Visa (of course). Is there anything else he needs that I am forgetting?

Thanks all for the help/advice.

Cat

Congratulations !

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

Louis flew from Hewanorra to Charlotte and then to NH. So he didnt have to go to PR.

Immigration was a breeze... 20 minutes he said.

Glad you made it home safe... time to get ready for Sheridan! YAY!

Oh yeah....duh...that's right - you did tell me that. LOL!!

So how's Louis adjusting to the weather and also your hometown? I'm glad he only spent 20 minutes w/customs & immigration.

When I went thru PR, they were very friendly so I'm sure all will go well when Sheridan goes thru PR. I'll keep you posted.

Tell Louis Sheridan and I said hello and welcome to America!! :)
