Hello all, forgive me if this question is redundant, as im sure it will be, but can anyone tell me as of this past month, June or May, what the total fees are, for filing a K-1 visa? I know that this total wont include airfare and all the damn copies i will be making ( thats where the office copy machine will come in handy.. :innocent: ..lol) but for fees alone? i kind of want to have an idea of what im going to be coughing up.....BUT I love him so it will be worth it.

The filing fee for the K1 is $455.

If you are talking about costs (copying, pictures, mailing etc) that varies from person to person.

That isnt that bad, i was under the impression it was around 1000.00 or more, i believe i saw in a post somewhere someone mentioning a 1000.00 fee, but that could have been to file a different type of visa. Thanks

The $1010 fee is for AOS once the beneficiary has entered the US.

i belive its 450 455 to file the I-29F and later yout finace will have to pay 130 131 something for the application fee to the embassy and i think 75 varies for the medical exam.

Well damn, im not gonna have any money to support him...LOL...if i give all of it to USCIS  How soon after the person enters does this need to be paid? you figure with airfare and everything else, does it really cost our government 1000.00 to process paperwork????? or is it a deterrent to prevent people from filing, that cant afford it?

It's $455 for the K1 not $450.

Once the beneficiary enters the US it is up to you when you file AOS. Just remember that the beneficiary will be out of status until AOS and will be unable to work and travel until it is filed.

Exactly.

So if you want your soon to be husband to be able to work and help pay the bills, you'll need to get married within the 90 days and then file AOS.

We are getting married roughly 3 weeks after I enter the States.

Best of luck to you!

We have spent close to 1000 just for the K1 Visa. That is considering the cost of the petition, making copies, gas used to get things done, materials used, shipping costs, cost for medical and things from the packet 3, printing off pictures, passport photos, more copies, just everything. It adds up. That isn't even including the trips we made and airfare costs.

Fees for K-1 - $455

Non-Impiedment form - about - $100/US

Police certificate - $3500/3-day service

Visa Fee - $131/US

Medical $90 - $95/US depending on which facility used - SHOTS can cost up to $200/US (depending on requirements and your SOs age). Have you SO check with his doctor and see if he needs any shots (would be better if he had is vaccine card). My so got the needed shots at the clinic it was much, much less expensive. His physical is this morning at 8:30 this morning, so link me if you need anything.

Girl, so many other fees...no sure if you SO has a passport or the updated birth certificate. All this cost money. It never ends. Link me if you have more questions. I just did all this so it's fresh in my head. The ladies here all helped me. I would be TOTALLY lost without them. My interview is in 2 weeks, so, I'm ready. Not a bit worried. If you have any questions, feel free to link me.

Thanks Lawny,

Okay, now is the police certificate fee $3,500.00????? or $35.00, OH my. When i go to JA in July, i am going to have Dwayne, get his passport, so we can get the ball rolling. I will probably print out your post, which i greatly appreciate, so that i can keep track of what im going to be needing to spend. I guess i will ask him about his birth certificate as well, he was born in Kingston, but lives in Steertown, so do i need to tell him to see about getting another copy of his certificate???
