AOS and IV Bill payment

Hey all!

Quick question for you.

Our K3 petition is now at the Embassy in London being processed and our I-130 is at the NVC. Both got approved together by USCIS. I can see online that the AOS and IV Bill can now be paid. We are hoping to go down the K3 route as we simply want to be together soon as possible, so should we still pay the AOS and IV bill online now?

Dont want the I-130 to catch the K3 up in processing but realise the I-130 stuff needs to be done.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Dave

We were going the K-3 route initially, but our I-129f wasn´t approved with our 130. So we went through with the NVC process for just the 130. It took us 31 days total. I´m happy we did it now because when my husband gets his visa, he´ll have a CR-1 and get his SS card right away, be able to work right away, and won´t have to file for AOS later. It really didn´t take that much longer, thanks to paying online.

If K3 is your goal, then you absolutely do not need to do anything more about the I-130 whatsoever except don't loose that approval notice. You'll need to send a copy of it with your AOS filing after US entry.

Yeah I realise the benefits of the IR-1/CR-1 over the K3 visa but we are simply sick of being apart now. Also my wife is in England this summer and with the K3 timeline there is a very real possibility that I could fly back home to the States with her when she has to go back to work. I am wondering even though we are proceeding with the K3 do we still need to pay the AOS and IV Bill now online? And what is the IV Bill? I know about the AOS.

We had the same situation. Bot petitions were approved the same day and forwarded to the NVC. I am following both routes. My hope is that I can get through the NVC with my I-130 while still waiting to go to the interview for the K3. Worst case is that she gets the K3 and has to return to Buenos Aires for the CR1 interview. It is a much faster process than AOS in the United States.

It will not slow down the K3 process, but if you go with both routes, be prepared to return to the embassy to interview for the CR1 if you have to.

I understood your question. No, you do not need to pay these fees. Ignore all NVC correspondence re: the I-130. Do nothing.

Thanks all!

That is that question answered.

If we were not so pissed off with this whole process we would sit it out and go down the IR-1/CR-1 route as its not too much longer in the scheme of things. I also have to think about paying rent on my flat here in England as my job here finishes soon in preparation to coming over. So really I need to go asap so that means K3.

I guess I will have to live a life of leisure in the US for a few months and let my wife look after me!

Thanks for your help.
