So, I finally tried calling NVC tonight from Tokyo ( btw it's about 11:30 a.m. on the eastcoast ).

The operator seems to be busy so it throws me back into the automatic loop. But my Case#

prefix TYO is not on the list they run off, and it says if I do not have any letter combination

as they announce, which I don't have, then they shoot me back to a live operator. But since

they are busy, I end up at the automatic response again. Help please

OK, the numbers I dial is 603-334-0700, then 1, then 5.

I had the same problem. I've been calling for the past 2 days and kept being thrown back into the automated loop as well. I would call at various times throughout the day and even at 20 minutes to midnight last night and still was unable to get through. Since the NVC opens at 7:30am, I called them exactly at 7:30 this morning and was able to get a person.

If it's not too much of an inconvenience with the time difference, I would try to call at 7:30 in the morning.

The phone number you are using is correct.

Good luck

Have you tried emailing the NVC at nvcinquiry@state.gov using the following guidelines? The response is a bit slower than via telephone, however you should get the information you need.

Good luck.

OK, I found out what my problem was. Seems, I clicked on the wrong option, some former INS number. I needed

to push on option 2 which was the NVC case number. Then it worked smoothly.

And, yes, I tried the e-mail option as well. However, we know it takes between 4-7 days for some sort of response

and I was quite anxious today. Unfortunately the response was not what I had hoped for, the usual "we have received

your documents and it will take 6 to 8 weeks to process". But at least I can see a small, very small light at the end of the

tunnel. And I can feel I am inside the tunnel. Finally.
