Josh- nope I am not going to take it!! I put a LOT of thought into it. It's best if we wait. :innocent:

I was not able to get my birth certificate like I thought. I had to call Puerto Rico to get one. I did. I talked to the nicest lady!! OMG There's not many Puerto Ricans where I live so it was nice to speak Spanish like I normally do to someone who speaks it the same. Every hispanic here is Mexican so they think I talk funny. I do have an accent in Spanish. Anyways... Jeez i ramble. It will take more than 6 weeks to get it, and she didn't even know how long it would take, but she kept saying that it would take a VERY long time... SO I came into the conclusion that I have to send Jorge my real passport and birth certificate. I am going to send it UPS since the building is down the block from his house. I can't come up with any other conclusions. I even thought about going down there, but I tried to search for plane tickets for 1-2 weeks in advance........... yea about 900 dollars. YEA RIGHT!

After 2 days of stressing out.... No apartment just yet. We are going to live with my dad for a little tiny while. When he is here, I will take a few days off from work to find a place. It's not that hard to. I think I have a clear head now.

I called CDJ again, and the same guy answered. He says they still have not sent out the packet 3 that it can take 1 month to 1 month and a half.... I hope it doesn't. I want the packet NOW! Oh well. I can only do so much.

I am happy that you are moving right along with your case. That is awesome. I wish I could do something to move mine along. I just have to wait some more............................................................................

.................................................................................

Well, we have our interview scheduled for Tuesday, August 26th at 12pm. That's cutting it close. Hopefully she can get the visa later that week. Other couples coming from Costa Rica seem to have been able to get them a couple days after the interview....soooo...we'll see what happens. Normally, I'd wait a week, but I'd really like to take advantage of that extra day off for labor day.

That´s great news! Moving along nice and smoothly for you!

Maria---

Why are you sending your birth certificate and passport to Mexico? Have you actually confirmed that with the Embassy or somebody who recently got a K1 visa in Juarez? At London, they did not want to see any of the USCs documents, but the Affidavit of Support things. Where did you get that information about your documents? Maybe you've gone over this before, but I haven't read the whole thread here. I for sure wouldn't send my passport anywhere. That doesn't sound right.

I thought Jorge could just walk in for an interview. What is he waiting for? The Juarez info says get the documents online and don't wait on the ones they mail out.

Just checking on you, love. :)

I WISH HE COULD WALK IN!! But we have to wait for the invitation letter in the packet! Or.... that's what they told us to do. The packet I receive has a letter that will tell him he can go in to the interview whenever. And he has to take that letter with him to the interview............. That's MY understanding of it.

I have made another thread about the whole BC issue and I agree that it is nonsense to have the USC send Original BC and passport.... I will not send my original passport, but maybe my BC? The guy I spoke with from CDJ must have thought I was the beneficiary. he's stupid. I told him i live in Washington. :bonk:

********IF HE DOESN'T NEED THAT LETTER!!! HE WOULD BE THERE IN A HEART BEAT!!! :bonk::bonk::bonk::lol: (not yelling at you, just got excited)******* :innocent:

Yep. I am just waiting on that packet 3 so that we can get that silly little letter that is an open invitation so i can over night it to him and then he can go and then he can come and then we can be together and have babies!!!!!!!!! Just kidding. I'm just excited!

I can't wait!

BTW I have talked to someone in the embassy, supposedly....but jorge told me that I'm not actually speaking to someone there, just someone in a call center that doesn't know what they are talking about. I agree. This guy is nuts  oh well. I have to be more patient. I really am going crazy.

Ok Maria girl. I've got this figured out. The dude you talked to thought you were the Mexican. So he said you will get a letter and you will need your passport and birth certificate. That's all Jorge's stuff. He will get the letter and has to bring originals of his passport and BC.

You can relax and think about the babies now. Don't send that stuff.

I think that may be the case. I'm not 100% sure but it's ok. I am going to wait until we receive the packet. From my understanding...I get the packet because Mexico's mail system is "so" bad.... so usually the USC gets it. Oh well. Whether he or I receive it... I am going to just wait. It should say it on there if it is necessary. Thank you Nich for answering back so quickly. I do this thing where if I'm not certain about something, I obsess about it and want to know for sure for sure for sure. ya know?

I hope everyone had a great day! Tomorrow is Friday, yet again! So fast! You guys.... I am really embarassed to say this.... but today.... at work...... i.......

I grabbed a pen and it was one of those ones that the lid snaps shut.. well... i was pushing it against my face... between my nose and my eye... you know what I'm talking about right? Well.... the little snappy lid....somehow... snapped shut with my eyelashes.................... Yea..... So the girl i work with, courtney............ i tell her "Courtney, don't laugh, I'm serious....it's stuck in my eye!" and she was laughing so hard. She told me to let go of the pen, and it was hangin' from my eyelash!!!!!!!!!!!! :bonk: I couldn't believe I did that. It was probably funnier being there than reading it on the computer, but it was the scariest thing ever. I thought i was going to poke my eye out!

I hope you guys got a laugh out of that.

Maria- I actually read your story about the pen and laughed pretty hard. I hope no eyelashes were harmed...

Once, in 8th grade- I was bored during History class and I was suctioning my pen cap to my tongue for fun. And then I somehow suctioned it to my lower lip and the skin below it. It was stuck pretty well, but finally I yanked it off. On the bus ride home, some of the boys were looking at me funny and I didn´t know why. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and realized I had given myself a nice hicky from my pen cap. That´s embarrasing...

Where is Stevi?

Here I am Caity and everyone.

I have been so busy this week. When it started off with the address mishap, I have become so cautious, that I became paranoid for a couple of days. Looking over and over things that have already been completed.

Then, in the mail today Taiwo received Packet 3. I tell you, The London Embassy may make it difficult to reach them, but once you do, they seem to keep their steady pace. Our stride was not even affected by the address problem from earlier in the week.

Things are still needing to slow down a little, because the two police reports are not in yet. We sincerely did not think things would go so fast, so we wanted fresh dates on everything, even though most of his items have a one year expiration date. So, in essence, we could be sending be the entire checklist right now if we would have anticipated things going by so quickly.

I have really been trying to spend more time with my family too these days. Sisters, brother, and all of the little ones in my extended family. I'm trying to also prepare them for the new dynamic of having an inter-cultural family. My sister married an African man too. They filed for K3, and it has been almost 2 years. They are just coming out of FBI name checks since October 2006. Please pray for them.

So, our family will be welcoming two African Kings into it very soon. It will be a wonderful experience for the entire family. We are already blended in many ways, with other cultures, races, and backgrounds, but this will really enrich the family even more so.

I am also starting to search the airfares from Cincinnati to Gatwick again. I have a nice bundle of Delta Sky Miles accumulated, and as you recall a few months ago, I was going to go twice, with the last trip being the one we come together on. Well, I am just going two weeks before interview time, and then going to the interview with him, with the hopes of us coming home together.

Ok, this is becoming a novel. I am closing for now. I want to try to calm down a little this weekend. I have been on this rush for 3 weeks now, since the NOA2, and it is time for me to calm down a little and gather my thoughts. Organize.....

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I will checking in still.

Peace,

Stevi

Then, in the mail today Taiwo received Packet 3.

That's awesome!!!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I called the landlord of that awesome apartment and told her "Thank you very much, I LOVE the place, but we really need to wait until about October...here's my number .." she said that was no problem that she will call me mid-september and she is sure there will be availabilities for October. She is SO nice. I hope that there will be more when the time comes. :)

Looks like everybody is on the right track on things. I'm kind of on Pause because I don't know what I can do to prepare so I am waiting for the packet.

Nothing new here yet. It's already been almost 3 weeks! CrazY! On Wednesday, CDJ has had our case for 3 weeks! SO maybe another 2 weeks for the packet to come? Not bad.

Time goes by too fast.

And yep I want babies. But not for another couple of years because I am too young and I have about 4 more years left of college.

OOH I went to the dentist the other day and I need 6 fillings :crying: I haven't gone to the dentist in over 3 years....and that was for just a cleaning. The good thing is that it will only cost me 119 for all of them  So I will have them done in one week and Sept 9. I'm soooo nervous!

Lalalalalala it's friday and I got paid today so I'm happy! :D

Hi Maria, dont be sad i'm here, just been busy gathering some documents especially now that the package that was sent by my fiance already arrived,i have to sort it out and file it in different folders(with different colors ;) ) so it'll be easy for me to look for it during the interview.also,i'm planning to take my medical exam this week plus my fiance will call the USEM tomorrow to schedule my interview next month.i'm getting excited because it'll just be two steps away and we will soon be together again

Even though i dont post here often,i always make it a point to read your posts and the other marchies

AWW You guys are so lucky!!! You guys are ahead of the game. I still have no packet 3, but it looks like it usually takes 5 weeks coming from Ciudad Juarez...so hopefully 2 more weeks and I will have my packet. I do, however, have all my documents filled out... I just finished I 134 affidavit of support, ds 156 k and ds 156. I also printed out the intent to marry that he has to sign in front of his interviewer. The only thing I have left is to print out a copy of my deposits made into my regular checking account, have my supervisor sign a form that states that I do make enough, especially since i just got a raise... and make copies of all the forms.

I am so happy that it is just about ready. i also am working on getting everything in a small binder and making it look snazzy.

Good luck everybody :) I'm glad to see that you guys are all moving right along!! :) :) That's very exciting to hear!!

I have a question. For the interview... do they want the original of EVERYTHING? I mean receipts, plane tickets and stuff like that. Or do they just want originnal forms.

Hi All,

I am very sorry that I have not posted very much in the past few days. I have been trying to make sure everything is in order.

Maria, I ALSO RAN OUT OF PRINTER INK and it really threw me off balance, because I was on a roll. Taiwo has all of the DS forms that I printed neatly for him a while ago, but he noticed one little thing that had to be changed, which made me have to change each one of the forms and of course made me have to RE-mail them to him in London, since there is no way to print them and email them directly. (WHY IS THAT?)

Anyway, I guess it was nice to fill the time with SOMETHING, after spending almost a year anticipating this point in time. I can't believe how much I MISS the waiting and the nervousness of the NOA2 waiting period (which was only 4 months actually). Isn't that the strangest thing? It's like my body and mind had become so consumed with thoughts of NOA2, NOA2, NOA2 for so many months - AND NOW WHAT? I need some nervous excitement again :o

Last week's address mishap was a little exciting, but I don't need that kind of excitement :bonk:

Is this like total "emotional imbalance" or what?

I have a feeling that one day there will be support groups forming all over the US called "Immigration Recovery."

But things are going well in general (Thank you God) so I will not complain at all.

I will use all of this extra energy to treat myself to something this week. Maybe a new hairstyle, or a manicure, or a fresh, detailed car wash. SOMETHING!

Peace
