Hi All,

I took a break from the computer last evening. I have been neglecting a lot of house work since the NOA2 approval, so I had to enforce a self-imposed break and clean my house :)

A week after NOA2 and I am still feeling like I am walking on a cloud.

Jenni: I am sure your hard copy will arrive soon. I have read so many archives to know that strange things happen, but if it doesn't arrive, a phone call should resolve that issue.

Amy: I hope this is it!

Hello Maria, Stevi, and all--

I've been away to London to the interview, but now catching up with your discussions of the past two days. Let's talk about DHL tracking.

If you don't know the day it left NVC, then you're just guessing. When it leaves, the NVC will tell you, "It left here on _____". Most don't take but a few days. So here's my previous instructions of how I tracked it but you substitute in your dates.

My package left NVC on 08 May 2008. This is what I did on the site http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

In the "reference" box, I put EXP 07 MAY 2008A (notice that's the day before they said it left)

They must generate their reference and do the packing the day before pick-up because EXP 08 MAY...didn't work.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" I put May 8 2008 to May 8 2008 (I wanted to see things leaving NVC on only May 8) If you put in a range of dates, you see some in transit, some being delivered, and you want to zero in on only the ones departing on the date NVC said yours left and no others.

Then click the red arrow that says "track"

There were three pages of shipments, so be sure and click "next" which indicates if there are more pages.

I noticed that there were 67 shipments leaving NVC on May 8, but each was to a different country (no duplicates) which tells me that they combine petitions going to the same Embassy. Looking at details on some shipments, the London package was 3 pounds and Manila was 40 pounds, so there must have been many petitions from Manila going together. You see how many pounds a shipment is by clicking on the red number of that shipment. Once you figure out which one you think is your number, then you can track it by number and see it's progress every step of the way. That would be under "track by number" instead of "track by reference."

Don't forget you can call the Dept of State who can tell your if you package is at the embassy, give you the new case number, tell you when packet 3 was mailed out, and tell you if an interview is scheduled. That's a way's down the road if you're still at NVC, but good information to know. The guy I talked to was very nice.

Dept of State: Dial 202-663-1225 Then press 1 and then 0 for an operator. Have your case number ready. They can look you up by USCIS number or new NVC case number.

There's lots of information you can find yourself if you look at the Wiki (blue tab at top of page) http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DOS

Don't forget to read the Embassy pages and reviews (also at the top of the page in the thin blue menu bar) You will learn the rules and ways for your country. Stevi--I know London, so PM me if you have questions. Also I have a total packet 3 scanned if you want a preview. You will have to send me your real email address so I can add you to the list of persons I am "sharing" the online folder with. You access the folder and download, save, print...whatever you want.

Good luck all.

Good evening you guys. I have a concern. Since we began this K1 process, I was taking advice from an older woman about this process. Well, I went to speak with her today, and she told me that i HAVE to go to Juarez that it wouldn't make sense that I am applying for his visa and not show up. She also mentioned to me that I am the one who receives the "check list" not the beneficiary. That I am the one that is responsible for the paperwork.... But this is a lady that almost had me file for a k3 when I'm not married  SOOOOOOOOOO Should I believe her and fly down? Or should I write a letter? AND From everybody else in this site it looks like the beneficiary receives packet 3, not me..... WEIRD! I'm confooooooozed! I went with my dad and even he thought that she didn't know..... I told her that I'm happy because it looks like Jorge will be here in about a month. She replied with I would give it at least 2 months :crying: Talk about bursting my bubble! Well I'm not going to believe her! Because she is going by her "memory" and not research.

SOOOO

On the other hand. We discussed more wedding talk! We have an "idea" of what we are going to do. And jorge's mom wants to pay for my dress; honestly, that makes me feel weird because I don't want her to spend that much. I will make it simple. I want a simple wedding. Nothing too fancy. We know who is buying the food and the beeeeeeeeer  (I don't like beer, I like foofoo drinks)... UM We may even have a place lined up!! AND A DJ!!:thumbs::thumbs::innocent:

I don't think I can go to Mexico...there's no way....OY! :bonk: What's the point if they will kick me out?!?!?!??! :hehe:

I have 2 apartments that sound good! $650 for 2 rooms; they're nice. One is 2 stories (town house) it's super cozy and the other one is one story. I want the town house...It's much cuter. Gotta have cute.

Let's see what else !

Oh yea! I was going to ask!

Josh mentioned on an earlier post how to check the shipment from NVC to Embassy... but I'm confused on the number...the number i got from that forum was 'EXP 26 NOV 2007A' and I don't know where you get that... I was thinking that was the case number but it's way different...so how do i find that number for mine? My case is CDJ 2008 ######...... sooo any tips? I"M SUPER PUMPED!

(F)

Hopefully everybody had a great day! :P

Maria... I haven´t read the rest of the thread, so maybe someone already replied to you- however... from what I have read, this is what I can tell you:

You AND Jorge should be receiving a packet of information and forms from Ciudad Juarez. I have heard that many times, the Mexican fiance never actually receives the packet (thanks to their wonderful mail system) but that may not always be the case. However, all (or most) the information you need is on the Ciudad Juarez embassy website. The only thing you need to bring from the packet is the "invitation letter" saying that he may now go to CDJ for his interview. Also, you do NOT need to go there. I have spent much time reading the Juarez Consulate thread, and most fiances do NOT go with their Mexican fiance to the interview. One girl recommended including a letter that stated why she was unable to go to the interview with her fiance (financial reasons, work obligations, etc...) and that her absense should not be taken as a sign of non-support for her fiance blah blah blah. No offense, but I dont think you should be listening to that woman anymore. Go ahead and read the Juarez Consulate thread in the Foreign Embassy forum. The whole thing (it will take a long time... but if you haven´t already, I realllly recommend it) Also, read the reviews of the Juarez Consulate that people have posted. It will calm his nerves, and answer your questions. I hope that helps. Again, I havent been through the process yet (obviously) so I am just going off of what I have heard from others that went through CDJ. You may have to wait 2 months before Jorge can come- that all depends on how soon you get the information from CDJ and how soon he goes to the interview. But hey, 1 month... 2 months... is nothing compared to your life with him, right??? :) Hope this helps!!!!!!

Im going to read the rest of the posts now...

Hi everyone. Question for you... when you called the NVC to see if your case had been received, did you have to wait quite a bit? I ask because I am in Mexico right now (and will be for another month), but I have a cellphone here that allows me to call to the US for 20 minutes for about 1 dollar. Was your called answered within 20 minutes? And what information do you need to give them, just the case number? I was thinking about asking my mom to call them since it would be cheaper for her to make the call- they wouldnt know if its her or me, right? Thanks!

Caity

Thanks Caityrose. I bumped into that site the other day. I try to look at other CDJ timelines and the are kind of random. I am getting more an more anxious  I knew that the closer I would get to the final steps, the more coocoo i would become.

THanks Niich Nick for your response as well. I am soooo glad your interview went well :) :) :) Congratulations on winning the battle!

I called NVC today and it has been shipped today  Thank goodness.

Stevi, i would call nvc to make sure that your case was shipped for sure. I always want to cross my t's and cross all my i's...ALWAY haha that's why I ask so much!

I appreiciate everybody's input on this website. It rocks :thumbs:

I am feeling stressed because that one lady tells me different things. But she told me that I do receive the packet...so that's true. I am glad because Jorge doesn't know how to do that paperwork stuff. He filled out his G325 wrong and I had to re-do and send it back so he can sign, and send it back , so on and on. So that is a relief to me.

:) :) :) I will log back on later, my lunch is over!! Gotta go back

Hi everyone!!

Well, just as I suspected! I rec'd my NOA2 today via snail mail!!!!! Online, my case still says "received and pending" and the last update is 7/23....but I'm holding the approval in my hand! YAY!!!!!! So for everyone who is not getting the updates online, don't fret, your approval is probably right around the corner in snail mail!!!! So glad we're now on a faster ride :D:D !!!!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!!

CaityRose - I'm in Milwaukee too, well a suburb....St. Francis! What a small world! Hope the NVC gets your approval and it gets to Juarez soon!!!

Take care all - Good night!

That`s great!! Isnt it weird that some cases arent updated on the website? hmm. I live about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee JLRSRK. Although Im in Mexico at the moment... :)

Hi Caity Rose,

In regards to the phone call to NVC....... If the lines are ALL busy, you are recycled to a recording that tells you to try your call again later, then it disconnects.

If the lines are busy BUT there is a place for you in the queue, the recording will tell you approximately how many minutes you will remain in queue until your call is answered.

Each time that I have called and been put in queue, it has either told me "3 minutes" or "5 minutes," but never have I waited more than 3 minutes. Of course that's just me, but I have called quite a few times since Monday :)

I know how it feels when you are in another country trying to make business calls and trying to avoid high costs. When I went to London a few months ago, I used my T-mobile International service, and much to my surprise, I came home to a 500 dollar cell phone bill :(

Good luck with calling.

Hi!

How's everyone doing? I just called NVC, they have sent out the package to the embassy. I did see a package going to Amman, and was hoping it was mine. Sure enough, it has to be it!

I'll keep an eye on the tracking of it, then will send an email to the embassy asking them for the date of the interview! I haven't even put together everything yet!

Still....!

YAY for you guys!! I'm so excited!! Remember when we were once waiting for those January files to get their NOA2's? ANd now we are at the last step! OMG OMG OMG!! I have been feeling VERY frustrated and irritated lately. I don't want to wait anymore... :crying: I'm sick of it. But i have to. If this is what it takes, then we must. I am having JOrge call Juarez tomorrow and get more information because, quite frankly, I am tired of calling for info to the different departments: Thought I would make him do some work :bonk:

I told Jorge that he doesn't have to send the packet back in the mail, that he can go as soon as he gets all the info gathered for the interview... He got so happy. Everytime I find out something new and good, he tells me "SHUT UP! Maria! Stop!" It's too good for him to believe.

Well. I am happy for everybody else who is in the same boat as me and your processes are moving right along!! We are that much closer. No more than 2 months  fo-shizzle!

i also found out that I am getting a raise!! I hope it's a $5 an hour raise  Just kidding. I don't know what it is yet, but it should take affect since Jul 1...so hopefully!!!!!!! This would be a perfect time for a raise! I also got a letter in the mail that I will be getting money for college again!! YAY So far life is good. It's funny because everything good that I have in my life, I battle for :P I have a good job (sometimes frustrating) I am given the chance to go to school, i am marrying the man of life, I have good health  (except for stress...). And I have you guys  All of you have been so much help. I couldn't have gone through this ####### without you guys :)

(F)

I have some questions.... EXACTLY what do they do in USCIS, NVC and Consulate? Each one has a purpose...but purpose are they? I should know this but I'm not 100% sure.
