I have about a dozen bottles of alcohol that I would like to bring with me when I move to the US (most of the bottles are already open).

Do you guys know if that could be a problem at the border?

Thank you!

If you're driving across I doubt that it will be a problem because I have yet to hear of anyone being searched and/or asked about bottles of alcohol.... including myself. Not that I brought any. But there's always got to be a first. Perhaps that is your mission in life.... to be caught with the dozen bottles of open alcohol. Worst case scenario is that they make you pour it down the drain so your choice. post-21394-1212028690.gif

You inviting me for the house warming party  Open liquor bottles are right up my alley!

Also, Ms. Obvious says: make sure you keep the open bottles in the trunk/truck box, in case the OPP or RCMP pull you over. Cause that would be a ticket for sure.

My husband brought over about 12 bottles of alcohol when he moved here, and it wasn't a problem. We almost didn't want to give the bottle of Cuban rum to his parents though (it was very yummy), but we didn't want to get into trouble over that.

Be careful, here........Some states passed statutes that are extremely restrictive (i.e., you cannotcarry any bottle, container or can on which the 'seal' has been broken) in

ANY part of the vehicle that a driver could access (including the glove

compartment).

If you bring them, pack them in boxes in the trunk or back of the car.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
