hello!!!just a newbie here and im very thankful for this site coz its been very helpful to me..now im regretting why we hired a lawyer in the first place aarrgghhhh :angry: ...ill be very glad to meet new friends here...goodluck to all feb filers..GOd bless!!!! :thumbs:

4/25/12- interview- passed & took my oath the same day!!-- US Citizen!!!

My N400 Journey took 3months & 8days!:)

I must agree. Hiring an attorney was the worst mistake I made. I wish there were a way to inform all of those considering hiring a lawyer that it is very unnecessary and more than likely will cause more stress than had they just tried to figure it out on their own. Unfortunately, there are those of us who are unaware of the k-1 or k-3 visa process and websites like vj and this leads to fear and intimidation. The attorneys also play their role of adding to this fear and intimidation. They make you feel as though you can not do it without an attorney. Then once they have your money, customer service becomes non-existent. You'd be lucky to get a return phone call in a timely fashion.

Anyhow, I hope your experience will be much more pleasant than mine has been. When this process is over, I will be sure to warn future filers of this attorney.

That's a good one. When I told my attorney that I wanted to fire him, he couldn't have been happier. He said, "Ok, but you don't get a refund". So he was more than willing to take the money and not do the work. This was before he even filed the petition.

welcome to vj may ur journey be swift and problem free...............as for attorney we hired one too he has done a lot less for me than my family here on vj.........in fact a few other people have the same attorney i do and they seem to be having problems as well.. :whistle: .....and of course after paying the money email back from him hardly ever return my phone calls nope have to call and catch him as we can and has he done anything for us well........ :rofl: ........no lol i have learned my lesson i will be asking for help in the future for change of status and stuff like that................this is the greatest place on the net for emotional support and help for just about any stage of the process ur going thru.

Thanks guys for this site. I am getting ready to embark on this journey with my soul mate John.

We will file the K-1 once the divorce decree is in hand.

I must say after reading this, I see we have a long road. hopefully the time passes.

He can still visit up until?? He uses the VWP.

He works in France and is not a citizen there, he is a citizen of the Netherlands. Hopefully this is not a problem.
