You have received National Visa Center approval and your petition has been forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila. The Embassy no longer sends out K1 packets.

Effective 1/1/08 the fiancée visa application fee has been increased to $131.00

Please go online to http://philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwfivk1.pdf for the list of required documents for your interview. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU REFER TO THIS CHECKLIST; IT MAY LIST SOME REQUIRED DOCUMENTS THAT ARE NOT ON YOUR INTERVIEW LETTER, such as the CENOMAR. You can gather these documents to take to your interview with you.

YoU will be required to attend a Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) seminar after your visa is issued and prior to traveling to the USA. This is 2-4 hours seminar held Cebu and Manila. The CFO requirement states that you must have your visa for the attendance and issuance of this certificate; however, some clients have been able to attend this seminar after their medical examination and while they are in Manila waiting for the interview. You can contact the CFO office by checking the link below to obtain additional information.

http://www.cfo.gov.ph/cfosmefcow_guidelines.pdf

You must submit NSO certified copies of your biographic documents. The documents must be submitted in the order given by the Embassy.

Please go online to http://philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv1.html for further interview requirements.

You can check the status of your appointment please click on the following link and type your case number: http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp

Applicants for fiancée or spousal categories will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Please refer to the attachments to this email: Interview Document Verification instructions and payment. Document verification will be required for each child traveling. The processing time for this document is approximately 2 weeks.

You are now required to fill out your DS forms on-line and print them.

Even though the Embassy says it will not accept handwritten forms, our clients tell us that the bank gave them a blank, validated DS-157, even though they had their printed forms with them. Take your filled out form to the bank but if they give you a blank, validated form, fill out the blank form by hand and take to the Embassy with you for your interview.

You will find the forms at these links:

Please refer to the attached e-mail for help with filling out the forms.

IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN UNDER AGE 21, PLEASE REFER TO THE TWO ATTACHMENTS CONCERNING CHILDREN TRAVELING.

Your Fiancé needs to send you the following information and it is listed on the K-1 Package:

1. Notarized affidavit of support form I-134 (which we prepared for you). Make sure your fiancé contacts us for the most recent version of the I-134.

2. Tax return – 2006 with W-2's / 1099's with page 1 notarized. If her interview is after January 31, 2008, you will be required to submit a 2007 tax return for her to receive her visa.

3. Employment or Income letter.

4. Bank letter or 12 months of bank statements.

5. Stock statement if applicable.

6. Certified copies of all divorce decrees (or annulment or death certificates) are required.

7. Updated copies of emails or phone bills as evidence of continued communication. This is extremely important or her visa could be denied. Phone cards are not accepted.

You will need to bring all supporting evidence in the way of letters, emails, phone calls, photos, etc. in addition to what the US Embassy specifically lists in the K-1 Packet. Yes, more emails, phone bills and lots of photos!

Please review all the requirements with your fiancé and MAKE SURE you have EVERYTHING listed on the K1, even if you think your fiancé had already submitted these items to USCIS. Your application is now with the US State Department.

1) There is often a pre-screening interview inside to check your paperwork.

2) Bring extra money for the courier service that will deliver your visa.

3) Ask the interviewer if your visa has been approved at the end of the interview.

4) Please do not bring mobile phones or any electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPods, or PDAs as they are not allowed within the Embassy.

5) We also strongly advise that you do not bring large bags, such as backpacks, suitcases or packages to the interview as there are no storage facilities on Embassy grounds

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

The purpose of the interview with the US Embassy is to prove to a consular officer that you not only have submitted all necessary forms and documents but that you have a bona fide relationship with your petitioner (fiancé). You will be asked questions about you and your relationship. You may be asked questions regarding a former marriage, children's or parent's names and birthdates, the name of the company he works for and the number of years he has been employed or retired or on disability. The US Embassy wants to know how well you know your fiancé.

If you know your fiancé well, your visa will probably be granted.

If you have insufficient proof of a bona fide relationship you may be denied or rescheduled to come back for a 2nd interview.

You better wait for confirmation letter from USEM. When you call to set-up an interview appointment they will ask you if you recieved your Confirmation letter from USEM. If you got this letter call them soon as you can. Expect they will tell you to "call back 2 weeks after becuz your document is still on review or something". Try to call them back a day after you call them or 2 days if your lucky they will set you a date. But mostly, they will give you a schedule. I think June slot for interview already been give away. I hope you still get June though. HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE!!!! GOODLUCK FOR ALL OF US!!! We can do it Gurls!!!!!!!!!!!
