. . . the stray cat that has shown up in your yard and won't leave and no one has answered any of the posters or ads turns out to be 2 years old and already spayed so obviously has a family somewhere - and definitely won't gift you with unexpected kittens!

Yeah, she showed up the end of October and I took her in Wednesday to the low cost spay neuter clinic because two of the neighbourhood toms seem to be hanging around her. She is thin, small boned and dainty so I thought she was about 10 or 11 months old. It turns out she is at least 24 months and has a spay scar. (No microchip :( ). So she is now in the garage with her shaved belly staying warm for one more night. She goes back outside tomorrow - I started to let her out this morning but she didn't want to go, so since tonight is getting back into the 30s I decided to let her stay in the nice cozy nest she has made on a blanket in the garage. I have more posters to put up now - anyone want a really sweet kitty - calico with white bib and paws and pretty green eyes? Her vaccinations are now up to date and she is obviously used to living indoors.

I hate when people don't take proper care of their pets! It's so sad :(

Don't you love it when you have a 3 day work week? Pretty excited about that!

Kathryn, I love what you do for these animals. You are truely amazing. I would take her in a heartbeat if we were closer, hopefully you can find her a good home that wont let her wander, or that her owners are looking for her and get her back through you.

Thanks - I hope I find her home or a good home too. She is such a sweetheart. She really didn't want to go back outside and is obviously not an outdoor cat, but I can't leave her cooped up in the dark garage all the time either. The weather will be relatively warm the next few days so she should be fine and I will make sure she gets lots of food. There are places where she could sleep to stay warm but she is too nervous outside to risk it and hides under the bushes closest to the ground instead. Poor girl - she just wants her home and a cuddly blanket to curl up and go to sleep on :( . I wish you lived closer too, Danu :).

Other good news . . . I just qualified to receive a prescription medication for feral cats called FeralStat - it is a type of safe birth control that is fed to all of the cats in the colony (safe for kittens, pregnant cats and toms as well) that stops them coming into heat so they don't get pregnant. It is administered once a week in wet food and only a little bit is needed but all of the cats need to get it. That will be the tough part. I have a 4 month renewable prescription starting probably the end of this month and I don't think any of them are pregnant right now (wrong time of year) so this should mean no new kittens next year and I can finally get caught up on all of the neutering. I had to go through a screening to make sure the colony was being 'managed' and I have to talk to the vet this week before I actually receive the product.

Wow, thats pretty awesome! That should make your work a lot easier until you can get them all spayed and neutered for sure!

I had a list for my husband of gifts to get him and my mom asked what to get him so i named some things off the list, SHE PICKED THE BEST ONE ON THE LIST!!! such a bum now im stuck not knowing what to get my husband. LOL... hes so hard to buy for.. he buys whatever he wants the day it comes out, he mostly just plays computer games or consol games.. im tired of giving him gift cards seems kind of shitty and unfair of a gift. But he doesnt really have any other intrests outside of that!

I have been participating in this one survey site for a few years now and have made a little money from it, nothing substantial but it is still something.. anywho, sometimes if you don't qualify for a survey you can click on this thing called "instant win" and of course I have never won and thought I never would.. well today that changed.. I clicked on it and I won $50!!!

I was like :o :o when I saw this pop up instead of the usual "sorry, you didn't win" :P

Congratulations, you are an Instant Winner!

500 Opinion Points ($50.00) have been deposited into your account.

You have an awesome workout and relaxing yoga session after a crappy day at work.

BONUS: A nice hot London Fog while curled up in bed with your fluffy kitty on your lap.
