I am so happy! Things are falling into place very nicely right now.

I got my work permit in the mail on Saturday and I got a job offer yesterday and accepted the job today! I even negotiated for more money and they gave it to me.

Wooooooooooooooooooo!

I start Monday!

Congrats Sapphire!

My Husband got a job today! He did a short preliminary interview with a company a couple of days ago (on the phone). Anyway they called him back and he interviewed this morning.

He had only been home about an hour when they called him back and offered him the job - he starts Thursday!

Congratulations on the new jobs!! (F)

No, iz top secret

He is doing IT, desk side support, which basically means he is supporting the people in the company, rather than external customers.

It's a real estate investment firm. Because of the recession they have cut everyone's hours back to 34.5 - so they all get Friday afternoon off...yay! They are also in the process of hiring a chef to cook lunch for everyone - which is pretty cool  I said, well aren't the people who had their hours cut ticked off, since they are hiring and even hiring a chef?? - they plan on going back to 40 hours either next month or the month after.

It's interesting, the interviewer told Mike that during the boom they had no choice but to hire people who were not really suited/qualified for jobs. Now of course things have changed! Makes you wonder if they just reduced the hours and laid some people off to get rid of some people. Just surmising here.

The other nice thing is that it is on a cool street, near downtown, so there are tons of restaurants and shops etc. Plus, his friend works just 3 blocks up the road.

Yeah for Mike! Sounds wonderful! Best of luck to him! I love the idea of a chef! What a lovely touch!

. . . the other kitten who I hadn't seen since his brother was found dead last week shows up with his mother this morning alive and well.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

... you're kitten actually waits until a reasonable hour to wake you up. Kazzak wakes me up with a hug. He puts one front paw on each side of my neck and rubs my chin with his face while purring as loudly as he can. :)
