I just peeked at your timeline, getting married 09-09-09!! Very cool! I am getting married 10-10-09, we didn't plan it that way though, we knew we wanted October, and picked the 10th, then realized afterwards that it was 10th of the 10th month..lol. My visa would expire if we waited until 2010!

....you haven't seen family in 16 months, and you are going to Toronto in September to see your parents, and your daughter has decided to fly to Toronto to join in the festivities!

Don't you love it when an spur of the moment choice leads to a new opportunity.

I've been pretty down lately, mostly because I've had a lot of trouble finding work and meeting people. I'd started looking for volunteer math tutoring opportunities to get me out of the house and accomplishing something worthwile. On a whim, I went to my church's Wednesday Eucharist and was introduced to a woman that owns an after-school math tutoring business. She going to pay me to tutor middle school children from 2 to 7 Monday through Thursday and on Saturday morning. :)

When we were talking we found out that we have exactly the same educational and work backgrounds. We also both feel really strongly that it's important to fight the "girls can't do math" idea that still seems to persist in the world today.

My husband just got the call from his boss that they are going to let him keep doing his same job when he moves to the US and simply work out of our office down here (we work for the same company but different divisions). Woohoo!!!!:dance::dance: No reading the unemployment section of the Canada forum, no filling out forms, no making resumes, no job hunting, no carrying him on my healthcare plan and $70K+ falling into my lap. Man, does it get better than this??! Now all we have to do is ace the interview next week and we're good to go. Minor detail. :P

I got my EAD approved and I went on two great job interviews today!!

One of them in particular seems so cool and promising! Also have a second interview for another job on Tuesday!!

Not going to get my hopes up but things seems to be going well...I'm glad I trusted my instinct and started applying for jobs before my EAD.
