I always thought that you have to do change of address only if you have any pending application. By the way, try to inforce the sponsorship agreement in case of divorce...My girlfriend ended up in shelter and lawers told her that in reality it is not inforceble.

The I-864 is a binding legal document and is very much enforceable.

nope, up until you become a citizen you need to inform the USCIS of every move you make....

Who cares about your sponsor at this point? The I-864 doesn't figure in the removal of conditions.

Well apparantly the USCIS DO care!!!

The sponsorship agreement remains in force until the sponsored immigrant:

Becomes a U.S. citizen;

Can be credited with 40 quarters of work;

Departs the United States permanently and either formally abandons lawful permanent resident status (by filing Form I-407) or is formally held in a removal proceeding to have abandoned that status;

In a removal proceeding, loses the lawful permanent resident status that the sponsored immigrant obtained based on your Form I-864; or

Dies.

Anyways, we mailed the form today so hopefully we should be fine.

The form was received by USCIS today,I'll let you guys know what happens.

Hey guys, I just got a receipt from the USCIS, they received the form and changed the address, NO PROBLEMS what so ever!!!!!I guess it really doesn't matter WHEN you file it, you just NEED to file it. :)

Thank you all so much for your replies.
