I went to http://www.philippineairlines.com/ and did not see the low fare that you listed. I saw a fare that was $1,545.00 for one way from Manila to SF. How do you take advantage of the promo?

Don't know if they still do. PAL used to give a one time immigrant visa discount. My wife and daughter got 20% off when they flew to US in 2006!!

Philippines airlines was down graded by the american gov. in safety not that long ago (Dec.), think it was. Maybe some of you never heard about that or for all I know it's been changed back again?

I recently had trouble getting a decent one way fare for my Zenaida. I finely figured out that if you want the flight in less than 2/3 weeks, plan on paying threw the nose ($1,700.00+-). Beyond that time I was able to get a way ticket to R.I. for $ 1,040.00 NWA.

By the way, was not able to get the price threw NWA agent. Figured it out on line by playing with flight dates.

I respect your opinion regarding Philippine Airlines. But I also have some relatives who have travelled using NorthWest Airlines and their feedback is that their standards are not the same anymore. These are seasoned travellers and their suggestion to me was that Philippine Airlines has upgraded their service and maintenance standards. Anyway, I do respect your opinion... just wanted to share the good news that I got a good price for my airfare. God bless you!

I got my ticket thru our trusted travel agent, Airways Travel. It is a local agency based in Quezon City. I only have their contact number tel no 4168070, look for Bing Garcia. The promo is until June 30, 2008. Booking and departure until June 30, 2008 only. My agent said that you can just give her a call if you want to book with them. If you need her cell#, please send me a PM since she doesn't want me to post her # here. If you live in the province, you can make arrangements with her since she has accomodated provincial bookings from other clients. They do not have a website though so I wouldn't know how those abroad can book for their fiances. Maybe you can try calling her and ask her though.

My family has been buying tickets from this agent for years, domestic and international, so we really trust them. Anyway, you can just try it out if you want. Or I also suggest you can ask other agents in your locality if they can give you the same promo airfare.

you'll probably be arriving 6:30pm to 7:30pm local time. if you have a window seat, I believe on the left side of the cabin, maybe you'll get your first view of the Golden Gate Bridge. enjoy the flight, but it's a long one.

I just google searched "philippines Airlines down graded" Don't know if the american goverment changed their down grade after jan 2008 but, it was all airlines of the philippines. Down grade was for security and safety, not about customer service. Just telling you folks what the artical says, didnt mean to scare anyone. But I do care about all my friends in VJ. What is ATO ?

it's all good ATO is the Philippines equivalent of the FAA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Transport...e_(Philippines) I believe PAL's maintenance is done by Lufthansa.
