NVC vs Embassy confusion

I called the embassy in Seoul today. They don't have my case yet. I asked what would happen next. They said NVC schedules the interview, not them. NVC told me it was the other way around. They also said I should be getting paperwork to send to NVC. I told them my case has already left NVC... I am now confused. Meh.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

11/27/07: NOA1

5/02/08: NOA2 (157 days from NOA1)

6/16/08: K1 Interview- ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING CO quoted us 2-4 weeks (45 days from NOA2 - 202 days from NOA1)

4/06/09: VISA IN HAND

6/20/09: POE LAX

7/4/09: Making it Legal - Wedding

10/17/09: The big wedding ceremony

AOS:

7/22/09: AOS Paperwork filed

10/27/09: Interview - APPROVED

10/31/09: Welcome Letter Received

Removing Conditions:

7/29/11: I-751 paperwork filed

2/14/12: Card Production Ordered!

2/18/12: Green Card Received

Citizenship:

12/26/12: Paperwork filed

12/31/12: NOA Date

1/14/13: Biometrics Appt

2/26/13: Interview

3/27/13: Oath Ceremony!!

6/30/13: Baby Due Date :)

Since you are doing the K-1 visa, after your case get to the NVC and is assigned a NVC case #, it is immediately forward to the embassy in your country. Whether or not it is an appointment post does not apply to you. The embassy in your home country schedules interview dates for K filers. Just get all your documents ready so that when it is time for your interview you are ready.

Good luck with this gruelling process.

You could ring the Departement of State they can give you updates.

But they told me they don't assign the interview... I'm so confused!

NVC is confused.

NVC schedules the interviews for CR1/IR1 visas.

The consulate schedules the interviews for the K visas.

Mama to 2 beautiful boys (August 2011 and January 2015)
