Notarized letter at the Interview

Me again,

Mercedes brought a letter signed and dated by herself stating her readiness and willingness to get married to me in the USA for our interview. She asked the consulate in Belfast to notarize it and they said there was no need - so instead of insisting she just said, "OK".

So, I noticed someone got rejected recently for NOT having a notarized letter of intent with them. Now, i know it says nothing about this in Packet 3 or 4 but hey, where does it say you need a new style police cert either?

So, should she re-book and get that done?

Would she be able to get it notarized at a bank or elsewhere? Not sure who alll are able to be notaries in the UK?

I'm glad you brought this up, because I'm getting all the paperwork together on my end and if something needs to be notarized (or it would at least be a good idea to get it), it would be good to know before I send everything...

Sorry I'm not much help ><

You will only need a new Letter of Intent at your interview if your NOA2 has expired.

A well there we have it ...

That's good to know. I'll still bring along her un-notarized letter anyway but I can sleep soundly now knowing that ... hope it helps you too Shannon,

Yeah that was me. My NOA2 had expired, hence they requested a notarized letter of intent.

My case wasn't rejected tho. Was told it wasn't a big problem, and that I just had to send in the letter notarized which I have done. Just awaiting the visa now.. :)
