Dear all,

I spent more than 6 months in the US (foreign assignment) and I ordered a police certificate from the state I resided. Now I read somewhere that I should not send the US police certificate to the embassy. Does anyone know if I should or should not send it to the embassy?

Thank you,

Michigan

Police certificates are part of your interview documents pack. Put it with your other documents and make 1 copy.

I dont think a police certificate from the US will be required, i could be wrong though, BUT just take it to your interview with you, if its needed they will ask you for it!!

A police certioficate from the US is not required as their background checks includes a review of the FBI databases...

There is no requirement for US police police certificates. The security checks you go through during this process already deals with that.

as mentioned above, you Do Not need to get a police check for the US. It is already part of the process and not as a matter of course.

Fingerprints checks even in Canada are not required unless you have a criminal record. No criminal record, then just a simple name and birthdate check is needed.
