What MENA means to me:

It is long time friends that I can count on and they can count on me

It means sticking together in the good times and the bad/sad.

Anyone else? What does MENA mean to you ?

Jackie

Well it certainly does not mean the above two for me all the time. Have I made good friends here? Absolutely. Have some feigned friendship only to stab me in the back? (love that caption under the ruffled feather bird btw) ABSOLUTELY.

I guess in the end it's all good since the true friendships that I've made have turned out to be priceless in good and bad times, but I'd suggest many to watch your back. I think some of the newbies have learned this the hard way and have left because of it.

I think that people need to realize that this is the net, TRUE friendship is rare. Think of your friends in real life, you may have many but how many of them are true blue friends. I have several friends but can only think of 3 that I would and could always count on.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

I'm glad u said that. It is hard to make TRUE blue friends these-a-days. I am one of those ppl who doesn't have much of a life as far as real life friends goes coz I just don't have the time anymore. 98% of my friends are online and 95% of them are from VJ. It's sad but it's true. I like to think that I could be considered a TRUE friend to some of these girls as I would give them the shirt off my back if they needed it. When I send out invites to those who are hurting or needing a shoulder..I'm 100% real in my offers and absolutely mean it each and every time. A few of them have witnessed it for themselves. Yeah, it may just be online to some but to me, its some of my best and dearest friends.

U do, however, have to watch ur back coz there are more ppl out to get u than there are those who wish to honestly befriend you. I've found that out the hard way.

Having said all of that... MENA to me holds some of the best friends and is one of the places I first think of to go when I really need to let out some steam. It's the place where SOMEBODY is gonna understand somewhat of what I'm going thru with my marriage. MENA is laughs, parties, sadness, hostility, peeing in cheerios, pineapples, hookas, and sandboxes. It's just a fantastic place full of fantastic personalities.

Yes, this has been the most valuable for me since we started our journey over a year ago... MENA has been the one place where somebody knows what you are talking about. i find that people i know who have married a foreigner already stateside, or married someone pre-911, or even married someone from abroad recently... it's just not the same when your SO is from a MENA country... it's just a completely different visa experience.

That's why i'm thankful for MENA on VJ.

It's a place where you get to see lolz cats on Caturday and Camels on Wednesday (Hump Day). There is no other place I've found like it where you can meet USC married to MENA ppl & share your trials and tribulations along the way.
