Best wishes, we're so happy for you. Now the journey continues towards it final stages. It shouldn't be long before you're together. Care to share your annulment story? And why did u think you could've filed earlier? God bless!

GREETINGS EMIL & LEAN,

LOOKS LIKE RELYN HAS REPLIED "THANK YOU" TO SO MANY OF OUR VJ FAMILY. SHE ASKED ME TO RELAY OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE ANNULMENT PROCESS. IT WAS SOOOO LONG AND MAKES VISA PROCESS LOOK LIKE WAITING FOR THE BUS.

WE STARTED AROUND JAN 2006. WE GOT THE DECISION IN OCTOBER 2007 BUT DIDNT GET THE "PAPER" DECISION TILL NOVEMBER. WE COULD HAVE FILED THE I129F AT THAT TIME BUT WE WAITED BECAUSE WE THOUGHT WE WOULD NEED ACTUAL DECREE. ALL WE FILED WITH 129F WAS CERIFIED DECISION FROM PHILLIPPINES COURT. WE HAD THAT A MONTH BEFORE WE FILED. WE LEARNED THAT WE COULD FILE THE 129F USING JUST THE DECISION. IT WAS A FELLOW VJ MEMBER WHO TOLD US THAT WE DONT HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE ANNULMENT DECREE.

THE ANNULMENT PROCESS TOOK 22 MONTHS. A VERY PAINFULLY LONG TIME. BUT YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR IN LOVE YOUR ONLY FOCUS IS ON SOMEDAY HAVING THE DREAM OF LIVING YOUR LIFE TOGETHER AND SO YOU ENDURE IT.

IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK.

AND THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR CONGRATULATIONS. WE ARE SOOOOO INCREDIBLY ELATED TO FINALLY BE CLOSE TO BEING TOGETHER. ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE WE HAVE HELD EACH OTHER BUT SOON WE WILL HAVE OUR DATE FOR INTERVIEW AND I WILL BE THERE!!!

How Much did you cost you for anullment?

GREETINGS JACK AND ANAIS,

OUR COST FOR ANNULMENT WAS 155,000 PESO WHICH AT THE TIME WAS ABOUT $3000. YES QUITE EXPENSIVE. WHEN WE WERE IN BORACAY JAN 2006 WE MET AN ATTORNEY FROM MANILA. WE MET IN MANILA WHEN RELYN AND I RETURN FROM BORACAY AND AT THAT TIME WE HAD CONSULTATION AND WERE TOLD THE COST WOULD BE 250,000. OUCH!!! LUCKILY RELYN'S DAD WORKED FOR A COMPANY THAT RECOMMENDED ANOTHER ATTORNEY. WE HAD CONSULTATION AND HE IS THE ONE WE CHOSE. THE REAL PAINFUL PART WAS THE ALMOST 2 YEAR WAIT. 23 MONTHS. BUT WE SURVIVED!!

Congrats to you two on your NOA2!!! It won't be long now and you will be together. As you know...I understand the feelings you have had with your annulment as Mir and I lived those same feelings in our 3+ year wait for this process to complete. It's worth it though. I will never forget the feeling of being at the airport and picking up my sweetheart....knowing there would be no more waiting. That time will come for you very soon before you know it.

One other note....for your interview at the US Embassy in Manila you will need a certified copy of the certificate of finality along with the annulment decree. I am not sure if you have that yet, but they asked us for it. I am guessing you have it by now, but if not you will want to check with your attorney or followup with the court.

Anyways....congrats again....so happy for you two!!!

I didn't realize cost was so much, nor did I thought it would take that long, Thanks for the reply. I was curious about cost.
