javaman,

There is probably no horse meat in America.

By the way, is there a special word for "horse meat"? "Cow meat" is beef, "pig meat" is pork :)

my guess would be BOLOGNA

Meat is meat. Just ask anyone from PETA!

I love beef on a Peta pocket

Alma, can't you just find some farmer out there to sell you a horse?

Another thing you could do is wait until deer season, and "accidentally" shoot a deer-looking horse that just happened to walk by your treestand.

Or.... you could be "target practicing" out in the pasture and the horse that was waaaaaaaaaaaay over on the other hill just happened to catch a ricochet.

(Hell, now that PETA is involved, might as well get the NRA in here too!)

If you like corn bread, there's another Kentucky favorite that you have to try for breakfast....

GRITS!!!

They're delicious. Put some butter and some sugar on them. Some people even put cheese on top, and some real rebels even use salt. I've got a sweet tooth, so I go with the sugar.

And, now that summer is here.... it's BBQ season. Ribs, chicken, pulled-pork.... the possibilities are endless!

Of course there are name for it

Filly of sole,

Nelly strogonoff

Filly mignon

lots of good dishes.

It is ironic they are living in Kentucky. It may give some real opportunity. I can recal a friend who used to live in Modesto right after they granted the boat people asylum saying that all the cats in the neighborhood disappeared not long after they arrived. Maybe we will never know who a future Derby winner would have been.

Seriously, I think you just need to learn to like beef. I learned to like Borch, you can do it.

Alma, you should try venison (deer meat) it has a good flavor to it and is quite healthy as well. Maybe a lot like horse meat. I don't know, I've never tried horse... I would, just no opportunity.

If you're looking for a lean meat with good flavor, deer is the way to go.

hee hee hee

Diana lives in Tatarstan and the last time I visited her I took a couple cans of chipotles and a bottle of habanero salsa for her to try.

She loved it!

In light of the IMBRA insanity we have started to talk about my making a possible third trip.

Today she said "Bring me chipotles" :D

I wish I would have read this post before I went riding the last time a milliion years ago at a Dude ranch in Colorado. That ill tempered nag almost killed me and I could easily have fit nelly in the back of my truck and given you a years supply of horse meat. I haven't wanted to get on a horse since but might smile as I ate a horse steak if I thougt it was Nelly.

I agree with slim, I'd try horse given the opportunity, and Venison is good, had an chance to try that when I was younger!

I went to Russia expecting to try many new and different foods, I tried many interesting foods and liked all of them except Red caviar.

Borshch (beet soup) and pelmeni (meat dumplings) were amoung my favorites!

OMG little off topic but I miss a soft drink from there also (technically it is Korean)... MILKIS, Hey coca-cola, pepsi...some soft drink company....GET ME MILKIS!
