Hi All -

Quick question, how recent should our I-134 (Affidavit of Support) be? My husband sent me all his financial documentations including our I-134 last March and was wondering if this is still acceptable or should we request for a most current one? Your thoughts please.

Thanks :star:

The first 134 I did while I was still on Active Duty in the Army, I submitted that with my I-129F application. By the time we got our NOA2 I had retired and so I filled out and sent a second one to Lot for her interview, along with copies of my last three ITR's and my "paystubs" from my retirement pay. At her interview they asked for the most recent 134, and my 2007 ITR. Then asked some questions of Lot about the fact that Im retired and currently unemployed. I figured since my financial status had changed we had better have the most accurate information on the 134 that Lot took to the embassy.

I would think that unless your financial status has changed from the last 134 that you wouldnt need to submit a new one.

if you can have the date as close as to the interview date, the better

docs such as this (I-134, cenomar, nbi and among others) need to be recent (although it states 1 yr validity, its still advisable to have the most recent ones)

good luck! God bless!!!
