Can you let me know if they helped even if you arent past 30 days after 180 days after NOA1 receipt? Which date did they go by? This lady kept giving me bs about that they can only expedite if its 180 after NOA receipt Notice, pretty much she didnt want to help. But please if anyone went through congressmen let me as much as you can so I can use it again tomorow. Thanks so much!

What kind of help were you asking for or expecting? Did you want special treatment to jump ahead of others? If not, what?

Your Congressman has read the story of "The boy who cried wolf" already.

Did you forget to put your reading glasses on? and Maybe read the title? if you cant contribute to the post, just skip it all together, seriously.

The Congressperson's Immigration laison cannot do anything before 210 days have passed. You already know that.

My question is a legitimate one and definitely on topic. If there is an answer besides cutting the line, there may be something to be done but I suspect you would have mentioned it when you called the Congressperson's office.

Otherwise, I'm here to help people. Sometimes the best way to help is to assist in recognizing reality and to encourage the use of common sense and patience. Sometimes that's not immediately thought of as welcome but useful just the same.

I understand the dose of reality. Its just not necessary to rub things in while this difficult process is going on. All I was trying to do is make an inquiry about if I need an RFE or not, my case hasnt been touched in 2+ months, and people are now getting aproved in January, so I believe I could at least try to cover all my bases and be prepared incase they need something from me. I also wanted some things explained to me, because calling USCIS is useless.

Your post mentions nothing about an RFE and you referred to the correct common sense answer you got from the Congressman's office as "bs". You might request a Senator or Congressman's immigration specialist send you any instructions or forms they might need from you to authorize them to make an inquiry on your behalf but they will not actually make an inquiry before the 210 days have passed from NOA1. (Exceptions would be legitimate grounds for expedited service but you don't mention any.)

I didnt mention alot of things in my post, like request for more questions, I just asked if anyone who have gone through congressman, what to expect or just any info that would be helpful to me.

Fine, then bear in mind, USCIS, Congresspersons and Senators all understand there's no point in trying to give preferential treatment. As such no unjustified or preferential inquiries are made. They wait until the USCIS's stated standard processing time has been exceeded by 30 days or until there is a legitimate justification for an expedite before they get involved. To do otherwise would breed both chaos and corruption.

In the meantime, these people are busy helping those they can help, so it's no wonder you did'nt get a favorable response.

Corruption in goverment? Cant be, where did I just read few months ago that USCIS agent was trading visas for sexual favors? Systematically you are correct, but we deal with real people here. I would rather try and get denied 40 times than sit and wait for their misstake and then be unprepared for it.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

You actually read nothing of the kind, since USCIS has no visas to trade. The US Department of State through Consular officers issues visas. Perhaps you read about a Consular Officer's misbehavior.

In any event, learning the process is the best preparation. We're here to help you do so.

The process only includes your local Congressman or Senator after something out of the ordinary occurs.

The article was about a Consular Officer, not the USCIS.

According to your timeline, your NOA1 was exactly 90 days ago. That nothing has happened during that space of time is absolutely ordinary. You're about four months early to seek assistance from a politician.

As you learn the process, please check out the timeline data here.

VSC processing dates for I-130 simply indicates the filing date of the oldest petition they still haven't finished adjudicating. It is not an indicator of how long your petition will take to adjudicate. Again, the timeline data here is a pretty good indication. Your own timeline indicates, "Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated as early as June 20, 2008*." This is based on VJ current data from others who fill out their timelines like you did.

Right, USCIS has green cards, Conoffs have visas. Both have been given in exchange for various favors including sexual. There's corruption everywhere but I don't see the connection to this discussion unless the OP actually wants her Congressman to engage in some corruption on her behalf. :bonk:

But trying to defend an arguement on the USCIS published processing times is not going to prove your point... Pushbrk will not let you have that one. :)

No I indicated that a lack of protocol would breed corruption. I didn't say the next corrupt act would be the first one.

You are three months into a black hole called NOA1 to NOA2. Right now, that black hole may last for six months, so anything a politician did for you now would be corrupt. That's why the woman gave you the impression she didn't want to "help you".

Now is the time to learn the process, so you're prepared for the next steps. It's quite unlikely any of those steps will involve a politician but you now know what the first step would be and when to take it, if needed. You can stop worrying about or paying any attention to that July 30 date or any changes to it and start watching other timelines from IR1/CR1 January filers as you "learn the process" and prepare for the rest of it that comes after the black hole of NOA1 to NOA2.

The reason behind reasoning, is that I too work with goverment agencies. Except I work with Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare. And it also involves lots of waiting, lots of corruption lots of uncertanty. Lots of Black holes, lots of promises, lots of bs. So me knowing how to wiggle around in healthcare system, I thought would be similar to what immigration system is.

The burning question is: What date do they go by? The date the petition is received initially in the USCIS's mail room or the NOA 1 receipt date? Some of us still don't feel like we have a straight answer to that one. It makes a whole lot of difference to the humans involved when the receipt date is two months or more after the actual "received" date, as opposed to two days, like it is for some. Also, the kids I-130 was transferred from Nebraska to California, and online it says "your application was received on Jan 28th", even though the paper NOA 1 says it was received Nov. 26th. Then there's always the 129-F for the K-3. We have no clue when the 210 day mark is.

It is hard to see August filers who still don't have NOA 2s and those who sent their paper work in January already with their loved ones (I rejoice with the latter, though). First-in-first-out seems to have little or no meaning. I realize every case is different, but when a case is bullet-proof, simple and well documented and takes much longer than others, it becomes very hard to make sense of what is being done or not done behind closed doors. The phrase "your turn will come" seems heartless rather than encouraging.

Can anyone answer this definitively? What is the date they go by? And do they actually do it?

Thanks in advance for an answer. I find it frustrating, as does the OP, - and I'm only a Mom!
