Hi everyone! I'm trying to plan how my fiancee should get to Manila from her home in Cebu for her medical and then interview. I know there is a ferry that takes about one day, and of course there is always a plane. My question is if she does take the ferry does anyone know how far away St. Lukes is from the ferry dock in Manila? Is it just a short ride on a taxi? Thanks for any advice!

Hello polar77,

If she takes the superferry to manila it will dock off by Macapagal Terminal which is just behind Manila Hotel, so she could just take a cab from there to SLEC (J. Bocobo, UN Avenue) maybe she will pay from 50-100 pesos it depends on the traffic..(please see map attached)..but it will be tiring for your fiancee to travel from Cebu to manila then go directly to SLEC..which she should be rested before the medical.

I suggest flying from Cebu to Manila so that your fiancee isn't tired because the boat trip is too long and tedious. If she take a cab from NAIA to SLEC she'll probably pay around 250-350 pesos (if it's flag down).

Good Luck to her Medical!

Ferry dock is actually nearer to St. Lukes and USEM compared to airport.... Ferry dock is within Manila City which is actually near Embassy and St. Lukes (both are in Manila City) but why would you have her take the ferry? Yes ferry or ship might be cheper compared to airplane fare but the difference is not huge especially if you book her flight to manila a few weeks to month in advance, plus the convenience of arriving on destination in matter of hour will be additional value for money.

Hi thanks for the advice, yes I think she will fly. Also, she wants to take her Mom or sister for company at the hotel since she has never been to Big Manila :) shes a bit scared, and I don't blame her. I wish I could attend, but hopefully I can make it for her interview a week or two after the medical. It all depends on how soon we can get dates scheduled. Her Mom has no passport and I think just a Voter ID. Not sure if the airlines in the Philippines are strict on ID for inta-phil travel. Thanks again for the advice.

for domestic flights there's no need for passport...any valid id will do.
