Sorry to be so brief but I'm about to hit the sack but wanted to post this asap.

K1 visa - filed for the conditional card, had interview and approved. Waited 2 years (minus 90 days) and filed for conditions to be lifted. Got an extension letter for a year. Took approx 9 months for them to get to my case - got RFE - sent in evidence including a lot of statements from friends. That was sent in at the beginning of April. Got an e-mail today that my case has been updated. It now reads:

Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On April 22, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you.

My assumption is that my 10 year permanent card has been approved and the card is on it's way. Anybody agree?

Any other suggestions as to what card they've ordered to be produced for me?

p.s. forgot my password to my other account so just created this temp one while i wait for it to be unlocked.

most people don't get interviews ....

Really? I had thought it was the opposite...

for removal of conditions, most people don't get interviews.... some people do get interviewed but mainly that is done randomly for quality control...

I've heard that lots of people will get approved without an interview, especially if their application is well prepared and documented. For the USCIS, they want those that are straight forward and complete. They can reduce the backlog pretty quickly on those if everything is in place. You must have done a pretty good job providing just what they needed.

Congratulations. Please post when the permanent green card arrives. We can all cheer your accomplishment.

I have heard that it does not really matter how well your package is prepared-it is totally random (except of cases with no info, of course). Couples with children were summoned for interviews-what better proof you can have than kids, right?
