Delay in receipt correction

Hi all,

I contacted the CSC the first week of March to have an error corrected on my NOA1. I was told the change will be corrected by 4/11/08. However, on April 11th, the correction had yet to be made. I contacted the CSC again and was told that the correction was assigned to an officer the same day that I had inititially called in the error and that the officer had until April 26th to make the correction.

Well I decided to call again 2 days later and was asked if I had received a notice in the mail of the receipt. I said no and asked if a correction was made. They could not say if the correction was made, but that they would enter another request for the correction. I was told that they have up to 45 days to respond.

I have seen approvals granted in a lesser timeframe than it is taking to just have an error corrected. An error that THEY made!! I'm afraid that if it's taking this long to make a correction, it's going to be that much longer to get an approval.

It will be 3 months next week since my NOA1 and I have yet to have one touch. I'm afraid that I will be one of those petitioners who after 6 months still doesn't have an approval.

I really want to nip this in the bud. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I just being too impatient with this whole correction thing or is this truly indicative of how my petition will be processed? Has anyone else had to wait over 2 months just to have a correction made? Is anyone else out there currently going through the same thing?

I'm really beginning to lose hope and freak out!!

You are dealing with CSC, not VSC. I don't think there have been any quick approvals. They are all from VSC. You will probably wait the 5-6 months to get approved, that seems to be the average for CSC.

Don't worry about not seeing any touches. We never saw one touch either, and then one day POW, approved. Touches means absolutely NOTHING!

Thanks for your reply. However, I'm more concerned with not having a correction made than being approved. I've calculated that the average time for a visa approval out of the CSC is roughly 150-200 days. That wait I can endure. It's the waiting for a correction that has me on edge. I suppose I am becoming impatient about it and feel that a correction should be processed quicker than this.

As far as me mentioning touches...I was assuming that a touch would indicate that they're working on the correction. Maybe you're right and I won't get a touch and my correction will be made. We'll see.

I'm hoping that others will share their experiences and timeframes with having a correction made.

I suppose I'll just pray for more patience.
