Flying first to Calgary to attend a wedding. So the first weekend will be full of that and some family time. Using my sisters place as home base, but will probably venture out to Edmonton for a few nights. Then on Saturday June 21 will fly to Saskatoon and stay there till 02 July!!

Anyone have any suggestions for Edmonton and Calgary? Might hit banff, but I find downtown Banff very touristy, and just full of tourist shops, so not sure if its worthwhile. I was there last summer. And of course in Edmonton, one has to check out the West edmonton mall!! probably our only reason to going there, lol As well i visited the Calgary zoo last summer, so i know it exists! I have spent some time in Calgary, but was usually spent in the bars, lol Surprisingly Thrifty had the cheapest car rental places! Tim Hortons here I come

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

i am so jealous! i've been out west in a couple of years now

i agree with you on Banff. i would suggest skipping it all together and going to Canmore. last I was there, it wasn't touristy at all, but i hear it's getting more popular. i remember a great chocolate shop and a super bike shop with a juice counter. the fellows at the shop were great and even sent two guys with my friend and i for a day of mountain biking. don't remember the name of the spot, but we rode up to a lake that was just as nice as the one in Banff, just minus the hotels and tourists.

I have done it before!! As well as the roller coaster. Im thinking Edmonton will be a 1 night thing! We were going to stay at the west edmonton mall hotel, in 1 of the theme rooms, but not worth the $350 a night charge! Especially when we can stay free at the nearby Hilton (hilton points) Thinking of touring around Calgary for a day or two, edmonton, maybe canmore. We shall see
