I am trying to bring my wife here from Ukraine, but I just lost my job. does anyone knows if this will be an issue? What if i go on unemployment? will they ask about it and will this stop them from giving her the visa?

First of all, where are you in the process? Are you applying for CR1/IR1 or K3? You need to have income/assets totaling 125% above the Federal Poverty Guidelines...if not, you need to get a co-sponsor that is willing to be financially responsible for her ( I do believe for 5 yrs). The best thing to do is go out and get another job ASAP unless EI benefits combined with your assets equal the percentage mentioned above. Good luck.

We are applying for cr1/ir1 visa. The Affidavid of Support has been approved. Now I am wating for the DS-230 to come in the mail. I know that we are some time away from the interview but will it matter if I am receiving unemployment when she goes to the embassy for interview?
