I am kinda new to this form stuff myself and your post have been a god send. I am leaving for Siagon on Friday April 18 for my second trip. I got a lawyer up front and I have sent everything my my 2 front teeth in my packet is seems. The support form, 3 years tax returns, a letter of intent to marry, the letter from my employer, the Bio form for both of us, copies of my passport, copies of plane tickets, copies of recipts from my first trip, some photos, and of course the I 129. This trip will be for the engaugement party and more photos and another set of plane tickets for her interview. My question is where are these post you reffer to in this post? And what would you reccommend we get done on this trip if anything? Our packet was recieved on March 10 2008 and of course now we wait. It is California and it looks like a 6 month back log from what I can tell. I do have one concern. Xuan was born 1979 and record keeping during that time was less then robust. She does not have her birth certificiate and I know it will be important at the interview. She does have a valid passport and another question I have is can we just go to the hospital or the "court house" if that exhist there and get a copy? Any thoughts on that.

Again thanks for all you post. They help very much

Congratulations on getting engaged. If you don't already know, getting married is 90% married in Vietnam.

If you do an advanced search with my member name (PeterFB), you will be able to see everything I've posted here. You will have look thru the posts but you'll find a lot of helpful info from everyone.

First, have fun!!! Unless you have the funds to stay a while or visit again soon, it's a long wait..... When you visit places, buy tickets, etc, keep them!! Take as many pictures as you can because it's great to look at them while you're waiting (and it's good for the interview...). There's time for getting the Packet 3/4 info ready as you filed in Ca.......

I sent you a PM about the her birth certificate. You probably can go the Ward or District offices to ask them about that if she lives in HCMC or another city. If she was been "in the country" then you have to go the local area authorities.

BTW :time:

Good luck and have a great time!

Congrates on the approval 2 to 3 months look at our time line

I would never want to take anything away from Eric and em An, but for you newbies out there, may I suggest that you don't look at their timeline. You will only be disappointed in your own luck. Look at our timeline instead. Then you will feel much better.
