Extending I-129F petition before expiration date

Hell VJ,

My NOA2 approval from NVC gives a four month window of opportunity before the Visa is expired. I still do not have an interview date, nor have my fiance received his packet 3&4. I am close to the expiration date of the visa, how do I extend the petition?

I had emailed the Ghana consulate and they had directed me to www.travel.state.gov but I am still confused. Please help, what is the procedure or what I have to do to extend the petition before the expiration date.

This is a normal thing with many consulates, they will automatically extend it for you.

EX: China NEVER interviews for K-1 before the expiration of the NOA2 letter, they extend them all.

If you feel concerned about this you can always send the consulate the extension request letter that is in VJ example forms.

Ours was extended automatically, we asked through email anyway and they said as long as the petiton is still active it will be extended automatically.

I sent an e-mail to the consulate just because I wanted to mkae sure they extended it. They replied and said that they extend them automatically. No worries.
