Hello ladies I saw this on MSNBS and I thought it might be intresting if some of us share our stories to them because many of us here are in this situation.

Are you part of a multiracial family? We'd especially like to hear from you

MSNBC

updated 4:18 p.m. CT, Wed., April. 9, 2008

What gives you cause for hope — or despair — when it comes to race in America? As part of our continuing Gut Check America series, we especially want to hear how the issue plays out in multiracial families.

Tells us about your family's racial makeup. Are you married to a person of another race? Do you have biracial children? Were your parents from two different races? (3000 character limit)

How has your family's multiracial makeup affected your life? Your children's lives? Has it been a source of pride, pain or other emotions? What are your thoughts on Sen. Barack Obama's candidacy for president?

Do you think that race is becoming a bigger issue in your community, or is it diminishing in importance from five, 10 or 20 years ago?

I'm of the opinion that racism has gone from completely to overt to mainly covert. Oh it exists but in forms that are harder to pin down and get people to believe it was racism. Which leads others to invalidate the opinion that racism still exists which just causes more of a rift between communities.

I'm married to an Iraqi and it's been an issue in my family. He says it's not an issue in his but I don't know that because they are stuck in Iraq and I haven't met them.
