At the interview..did you bring your passport?

Hi guys, :thumbs:

:reading: I read the interview letter and it said to bring the passport and green card along. Did you bring your passport? Did you have to give them up? I am a little concern them taking mine away.

Any information is appreciated!

I'm going to travel the world when I get my US passport

Arrived to the US: 09 Jul, 1997

Permanent Resident since: 09 Jul, 1997

Mailed N-400: 07/24/07

NSC Received N-400: 07/26/07

Date Green Domestic Return Receipt Request returned: 08/01/07

Check cashed: 08/01/07

NOA1 date: 09/10/07

Recieved NOA1: 09/14/07

FP notice received: 09/14/07

FP date: 10/03/07

Interview letter received: 03/15/08

Interview date: 04/15/08

Oath date: 05/07/08

It took 288 days for me to complete my journey

They wont take your passport or green-card away, you are just using it as a form of identification.

Only time I would think they may take away a green-card would be at the swearing in ceremony when you become a US Citizen, at that point you will have no need for a green-card.

I'm actually more concern about the Passport. :cry: I don't mind them taking my GC away cuz yes you're right.. I won't need it when I take oath. I'm just thinking of them taking my passport and shred-it or something. :crying: I traveled a lot on my TH passport and would like to keep them.

They will not take it away. If the instructions are to take your passport you have to take it. They are not giving you a choice but stating what you have to do.

There are many people who are Dual Citizens, they have Two Passports one from the "old country", and one from the USA, again they wont take your passport away.

I'm sure they're going to ask your passport in the interview just like mine and also the green card and my state ID.

11/05/2007 - Priority Date

12/03/2007 - NOA1 Receipt Notice Received

12/13/2007 - NOA2 Fingerprints Received

01/02/2008 - Fingerprinting Done

02/11/2008 - NOA3 Interview Notice Received - April 10th, 2008

04/10/2008 - Interview Done - APPROVED

08/15/2008 - Oath Letter Received

09/10/2008 - US Citizen

09/24/2008 - Applied for US Passport

10/06/2008 - US Passport Received

They may want to look at it to verify travel dates, or at least to see that there aren't any stamps in it that indicate travel inconsistent with what you reported on your N-400.

They won't take your old passport.

04 Apr, 2004: Got married

05 Apr, 2004: I-130 Sent to CSC

13 Apr, 2004: I-130 NOA 1

19 Apr, 2004: I-129F Sent to MSC

29 Apr, 2004: I-129F NOA 1

13 Aug, 2004: I-130 Approved by CSC

28 Dec, 2004: I-130 Case Complete at NVC

18 Jan, 2005: Got the visa approved in Caracas

22 Jan, 2005: Flew home together! CCS->MIA->SFO

25 May, 2005: I-129F finally approved! We won't pursue it.

8 June, 2006: Our baby girl is born!

24 Oct, 2006: Window for filing I-751 opens

25 Oct, 2006: I-751 mailed to CSC

18 Nov, 2006: I-751 NOA1 received from CSC

30 Nov, 2006: I-751 Biometrics taken

05 Apr, 2007: I-751 approved, card production ordered

23 Jan, 2008: N-400 sent to CSC via certified mail

19 Feb, 2008: N-400 Biometrics taken

27 Mar, 2008: Naturalization interview notice received (NOA2 for N-400)

30 May, 2008: Naturalization interview, passed the test!

17 June, 2008: Naturalization oath notice mailed

15 July, 2008: Naturalization oath ceremony!

16 July, 2008: Registered to vote and applied for US passport

26 July, 2008: US Passport arrived.
