Am I just doing some wishful thinking here or do you think that if your 1-129F bit gets approved, that the whole process will eventually get approved? It's so stressful because at any time these people could deny your petition and probably ruin your life! God that sounds depressing lol, but anyways....I'm thinking chances are good for a K1 as I believe the hardest part is over with. Has anyone got a NOA2 but eventually denied a visa???

You can still be denied the visa for several reasons. That is for the CO to decide.

The approval of the I-129F just means that you and your fiance meet the requirements to apply for a K1.

People have gotten NOA2's and still have been denied at the actual interview.

NOA2 does not mean K1 visa in hand.

I think it's rare but it can happen.

I-129 F approval do not mean K1 visa approval, we were approved on I-130 and I-129F but not approved on K-3.

My K3 petition was returned back to USCIS on Jan,22nd,2008 and i am still waiting till this moment to hear from the USCIS

Background checks, overstays, making sure your relationship is a bona fide relationship, etc. etc.

Have to prove you are the real deal.

Jeez and I was thinking our chances were good!! So what exactly does USCIS do then in terms of researching your case?

Everything went ok and the interviewer had decided to send the petition back to the USCIS (denieing the petition). To be honest till this moment we do not know the reason for denial, despite we have contacted the senator ,but nothing was received from the embassy about the reason.

we have been so sad ,so confused ,and nothing to do.

we have pictures, emails ,SMS messages ,call records, and they did not take care of those evidences...........

That truly must be the worst feeling in the world, it's #### that these people that don't even know you choose whether or not your relationship is real.

There was just a posting in the last few days about how someone got denied at interview because they included photos of a non-binding wedding they had.

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.

USCIS approving the petition just indicates that the paperwork is OK, but approval is ultimately up to the counselor officer doing the actual visa interview.

People are denied all the time, just search for things like "Blue Slip" or "White Slip"

Denials are certainly possible, but it often is more likely in certain embassies - like Vietnam or China. As you are British, the liklihood of a denial is much less. C'mon into the UK forum and you can read lots of accounts of recent interviews through the US Embassy in London. It will give you a good picture of what to expect! :)
