Unbelievable but true! We were approved for visa but later on we found out that they put us back to AP. All the celebration time got over for a while again , too sad and too bad :( We even booked the tickets but now gotta cancel them. I think they just play with our lifes.

Anyways, could you please let me know if there is any difference between AP and AR or if they are just the same thing? Any one from India got an AP after interview so far? Please share your expereinces. This is a painful step to the whole process.

As I understand it AR is administrative review. Some Embassies automatically put petitions in AR while others only do it if there are suspicions.

AP is advanced parole which allows a beneficiary here in the U.S. on a K visa to travel internationally after the visa is executed but prior to the green card being issued.

Or something like that

AR is for security checks.

AP is for security checks and to verfiy more of the documents plus you can have home or work visits to verify the relationship.

Lari,

I think it's semantics, at least to the degree of detail that our community can deal with.

One thing to remember, as jasman's post points out, is that the acronum AP is most commonly associated with advance parole so for the avoidance of confusion it's just as well to use AR to refer to administrative anything even if there is some kind of difference. (Better yet to avoid the use of acronyms.)

Just updating the threads, so that it is helpful for someone who is looking for some info or timelines :)

Finally a Good news here. AP/AR is completed both at DOS and Embassy. My Husband's case got adjudicated, and they gonna issue the visa soon, or I think they already have. But again this is verbal information and nothing in written yet. So hope they don't change mind again like they did a while ago.

All you out there, Be patient, GOD IS GREAT!!!
