I'm not sure if things have changed, but I just needed my packet three with me to show my case number, not the appt letter. I went to dr. Seiden in toronto also.

Just thought i'd share!

Thanks!

I'm sure she said "Bring your appointment letter" but I may have been mistaken....

Hi ya'll!!! I am from Manitoba but I did my medical at Dr. Seiden in Toronto on March the 10th. No, you DO NOT need you interview letter aka packet 4. All you need is the letter that came with packet 3 with your name and confirmation number. You give it to the the nurse at the desk when you get there and she will give it back to you when you leave. You need you vaccination record and your three photographs. The people that work at Dr. Seidens are really REALLY nice. I was really impressed. Don't forget to bring the $185 CAD cash with you. Must be exact change. The best of luck to ya'll.

When I called to make my appointment she also told me to bring the interview letter. I told her I didnt get the interview date yet, she then said the packet 3 letter with all our names on it.

Hey Laura & Melusine, I am so in the same boat as you guys. Checking Liz's sheet all the time to see if anyone got a date. It does seem that it's been awhile since anyone's gotten one and I am also very very curious where they are in their scheduling (hoping still May or even April though I doubt that). I AM in a hurry for it to happen and we will plan our move for right after (well, with some padding to allow the visa to come, but you know what I mean).

And as a few others have said, no you do not need your interview letter for the medical.

Okay, where's my interview?!?! :clock:

See a tad bit of good news with regards to the interview letter for the medical!! Hopefully more good news is on the way

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Dear Laura, Melusine and Rae&Scott,

I hope so much for you all to get ahead quickly.

It is the most challenging, the waiting.

Bleh.

Know that it will come to an end, although it really doesn't feel like it now.

And know that the waiting that doesn't make sense as it is not congruent (or logical or reasonable) is really the biggest problem.

You will all be given the stamp and off you will go...into the U.S.

Hang in there, and do try to find some stuff to do for yourselves that you will probably not have any time for once you are living with your partner.

Hee, hee. This is your time.

:star:

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

I've been stalking the couples on Liz's list too and see your names there :P as recent visitors.

I keep looking to see if anybody has an interview yet, if they're still posting, if they updated their timeline with an interview date, but didn't notify Liz etc... I really need to know the ballpark of when our interview will be for planning. I was thinking it would be late May - mid June, but who knows.

What sucks is I'm hanging onto 2 weeks of vacation time (which replenishes with 5 in July) for the interview instead of going to visit my fiance. So if it's in July I've gone with out seeing him for nothing which will really pi$$ me off. I have 2 kids graduating in June (8th & 12th) ... can't plan much for them which makes me mad too! And my job is not easy to rearrange schedules. I have 2 other people who are willing to change things around for me so I can drop what I'm doing and go to Montreal (thank God they're so nice and willing to do this for me) but it's still going to be a big chore.

I wonder what the holdup is! C'mon Montreal!!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

Hi,

I'm new here but just wanted to add this...

Just had my medical this morning at Dr. Seiden's in Toronto and I brought my appt letter. They ask for it- even on their website- but someone did not have hers and they still proceeded to do the medical. I think they'd prefer it. Of course don't forget the passport, photos, cash $185 and updated immunizations. My advice is get there early(I was there at 7am and the second one in line). They took me in around 7:20am and I got out by 8:30am.
